And In Other News…
-It was originally reported by WWE.com early this morning (and it was repeated on the pay-per-view) that Jeff Hardy had been found unconscious in his Boston hotel room and had been rushed to the emergency room. Later that afternoon, Jeff was released from the hospital. In an interview later that night, Jeff’s brother Matt revealed that Jeff had been attacked from behind with a "blunt object" from an unknown assailant.
-The opening bout for the 22’nd annual Survivor Series was a Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match that saw Team Michaels defeat Team JBL with three survivors- Team Captain Shawn Michaels, Rey Mysterio, & The Great Khali.
-The second match was a special RAW Vs. SmackDown Divas Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match where Team RAW bested Team SmackDown with only Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix remaining.
-In the most unique Casket Match in the WWE, The Undertaker defeated Big Show. Big Show tried his best to avoid being put in the casket, even going so far as to break the lid of the original casket, but much to Big Show’s dismay, Undertaker’s trusty druids brought another casket out and set it on the staging area. Undertaker used an Irish Whip into the standing casket to win.
-In the final Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match, Team Orton was able to defeat Team Batista with two survivors- Randy Orton & Cody Rhodes.
-Prior to the WWE Title Match, Jim Ross revealed that he had gotten word that Jeff Hardy would NOT be competing in the Triple Threat Match for the WWE Title and that it would be one-on-one with Triple H defending his title against Vladimir Kozlov.
-In a shocking turn of events, a new WWE Champion was crowned at Survivor Series in controversial fashion. Triple H & Vladimir Kozlov fought tooth and nail in their one-on-one encounter for the WWE Title, but after Triple H hit the Pedigree on Kozlov, both Triple H & Kozlov were down in the ring. SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero then appeared and announced that there will still be a Triple Threat Match and that "he" is here. It turned out that the "he" was not Jeff Hardy, but Vickie Guerrero’s long lost husband Edge. The Ultimate Opportunist slid into the ring and laid out the WWE Champion with a Spear. Before Edge could get the pin, Jeff Hardy sprinted to the ring and assaulted Edge. Jeff then wielded a steel chair at Edge, but Edge dodged the shot and Jeff inadvertently hit Triple H with the chair, Jeff then waylaid Kozlov before getting Speared by Edge. Edge took advantage of a downed Triple H to win the WWE Title.
-In the main event for the World Heavyweight Title, John Cena made his return to the WWE in Boston (near his hometown) and after a hard-fought battle with World Champion Chris Jericho, Cena was able to plant Jericho with the F-U to capture the World Heavyweight Title in his first match back from injury.

And In Other News…
-New WWE Champion Edge & SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero opened the show to celebrate the return of new WWE Champion Edge. The husband and wife reunited in the middle of the ring and Edge tells the GM that he won the title for her. Vickie thanks her husband for saving her from the irresponsibility of Jeff Hardy. A furious Hardy rushed to the ring, but was stopped by several members of security. Triple H then rushes out and knocks down the security and Jeff Hardy, but is stopped by even more security. Vladimir Kozlov then comes in from the other side and is in the ring with the champion and threatens to beat up Edge and take his title. Vickie Guerrero steps in and announces three Beat The Clock Matches to determine the #1 Contender for Edge’s WWE Title at Armageddon. The first of the three to compete will set the time and the other two competitors must beat the previous time to advance. If a competitor does not beat the clock or does not win their match, they will not receive a WWE Title Match.
-In the first Beat The Clock Match, Jeff Hardy defeated The Brian Kendrick to set the time to beat at 12:13.
-In 6-Diva Tag Action, the team of Maryse, Natalya, & Victoria defeated Divas Champion Michelle McCool & The Bella Twins after one of the Bellas accidentally clotheslined McCool and Maryse took advantage and pinned the champion. After the match, McCool and The Bellas argued in the ring and Maria came in to break it up, but McCool shoved Maria to the mat before leaving the ring.
-In the second Beat The Clock Match, Vladimir Kozlov was unable to beat the clock against ECW Champion Matt Hardy, who promised to get Jeff into the WWE Title Match at Armageddon.
-Jesse & Festus also scored a win over The Miz & John Morrison by disqualification. During the match, John Morrison slipped to the outside of the ring and, like last week, rang the ring bell to "deactivate" Festus. However, Jesse knocked Morrison down and threw him into the ring with the stoic Festus. Jesse then rang the bell and Festus commenced his assault on The Shaman of Sexy. Miz then took Jesse down and rang the bell again to send Festus back into his trance. Miz & Morrison then double-teamed Jesse to the point of getting disqualified. After Miz & Morrison taunted Festus using the ring bell, Miz blasted Jesse with the bell, but Miz also dropped the hammer onto the bell, ringing it again and Festus cleared the ring of the duo.
-In the Beat The Clock Match, Triple H defeated United States Champion Shelton Benjamin, but The Game tied Jeff Hardy’s time of 12:13. Before the end of the match, the referee was inadvertently knocked down, which caused Triple H to lose the few crucial seconds it took to beat Jeff’s time. While the original referee granted Triple H the win, the referee from Jeff Hardy Vs. The Brian Kendrick came out and argued that Triple H did not beat the clock. With both men finishing their matches at the exact same time, who is the #1 Contender?
-It was announced after SmackDown went off the air that General Manager Vickie Guerrero and the WWE Board of Directors have decided that Edge will defend the WWE Title in a Triple Threat Match at Armageddon against both Triple H & Jeff Hardy.
-A huge main event was announced for next week as The Undertaker will face off with Big Show in a Steel Cage Match. Also, Hurricane Helms will make his return to SmackDown.
