WWE has announced some early figures for 2009, and the big news is that the Royal Rumble buyrate saw a major drop compared to last year’s draw. In 2008, the PPV drew 575,000 buys, while this year’s show only drew 445,000 buys which is a 23% drop. Worse yet is that a majority of the buys came from foreign markets, and WWE receives less of a pay cut from non-domestic buys.
