The 148th edition of ECW on Sci-Fi came to you, live, from the Frank Erwin Center at UT Austin.

Match Results

  • 6-Man Tag: Evan Bourne, Primo, & Carlito def. Tyson Kidd, The Miz, & John Morrison by Evan Bourne pinning Tyson Kidd following Air Bourne.
  • Elimination Chase To Backlash: Round 1: Fatal 4-Way: Finlay (with Hornswoggle) def. Christian, Mark Henry (with Tony Atlas), & Tommy Dreamer by pinning Mark Henry following the shillelagh shot to eliminate Mark Henry from the Elimination Chase To Backlash.

Match Quality

  1. 6-Man Tag
  2. Fatal 4-Way

Note(s)

The Elimination Chase To Backlash will be an elimination-style mini tournament. It starts with four competitors (Finlay, Mark Henry, Tommy Dreamer, & Christian) and the four face off in a Fatal 4-Way and whoever is pinned or made to submit (Mark Henry) will be eliminated. The next week, the remaining three (Finlay, Tommy Dreamer, & Christian) will face off in a Triple Threat Match and whoever is pinned or made to submit will be eliminated. Finally, on the April 20 edition of ECW, the last two will face off and the winner of that match will face Jack Swagger for the ECW Title at Backlash.

Josh Mathews did the Play-by-Play duties for ECW. I assume Todd Grisham is temporarily on SmackDown to fill in for the recently departed Tazz.

It was announced at the beginning of ECW that Theodore Long will be leaving as General Manager of ECW to become the new permanent General Manager of SmackDown (after RAW when Vickie Guerrero announced she would become the permanent General Manager of RAW and left her job as GM of SmackDown). Long then announced that his now former assistant, Tiffany, will serve as the Interim General Manager of ECW.
