WWE Women’s Champion Michelle McCool was injured on Friday night in a title match against Eve Torres at a WWE house show.
McCool injured what appeared to be her left knee. It’s unclear how the injury occurred, but after a roll-up attempt by Torres, McCool rolled to the outside. The referee, who seemed puzzled, began a 10-count. A second referee (Jack Doan) came to ringside to check on McCool and immediately put up the cross arms, signifying a legit injury.
Hampton Beach fire fighters and paramedics immediately came to ringside to attend to McCool, who stayed on the floor for several minutes.
WWE road agent Arn Anderson emerged from backstage to check on McCool as well. Eventually, McCool was assisted to her feet and was helped to the backstage area. It appeared that if the injury was to her left knee, however the severity is not known at this time.
The match was ruled a no-contest.
