Big WWE News: Dennis Miller Confirmed To Host 2009 Slammy Awards on December 14!

Stamford, Conn. – Comedian and radio talk show host Dennis Miller will serve as the host of the 2009 Slammy Awards during a special three-hour presentation of Monday Night Raw on Dec. 14 from the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.

 

Created by the Academy of Wrestling Arts & Sciences, the Slammy Awards is considered WWE’s version of the Oscars. Past categories have included: WWE Superstar of the Year, WWE Match of the Year and WWE Diva of the Year. (2008 Slammy Awards)

 

The five-time Emmy award-winning comic is renowned for his improvisations and acerbic humor about pop culture and politics. Miller currently is the host of a nationally syndicated radio show by Westwood One. (Dennis Miller’s radio show)

 

The former Saturday Night Live update anchor joins other notable celebrities such as athletes Shaquille O’Neal and Ben Roethlisberger and television personalities Nancy O’Dell and Maria Menounos to act as guest host of Raw.

 

Miller also serves as the National Spokesperson for USA Cares, a Kentucky-based nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance to military families in need.
