Before he teams with John Cena to face Edge & Chris Jericho with The Nexus as Lumberjacks later in the night, the show kicks off with WWE Hall of Famer Bret “The Hitman” Hart! Bret states that, for the last two weeks, he has been “training like an absolute lunatic” in preparation for SummerSlam, but he has witnessed Team WWE “fall apart”! Bret states that, three weeks ago, he visited John Cena and reveals that he “vouched” for Edge & Chris Jericho, saying that Edge & Jericho would recognize the threat of The Nexus and that their momentum needs to be stopped, but Edge & Jericho would prove him “wrong” by quitting Team WWE! Bret Hart then calls Edge & Chris Jericho to the ring to try and put the team back together and Chris Jericho comes out and tells Bret to “dazzle” and “impress” him! Bret interrupts and tells Jericho that it is his time to “be a man” and to “step up and change things” before telling Jericho that Jericho & Edge did not “hurt” Team WWE, they only “hurt” themselves because, if The Nexus wins at SummerSlam, then Edge & Jericho will not be accepted by The Nexus or any of the Superstars and they will have “nowhere to go”! Bret then asks Jericho if he is going to do the “honorable thing” and join back up with Team WWE or if he is going to “disappoint” the fans and look at himself knowing that he “quit”! Jericho responds by saying his answer is still “no” and states that he has Bret “figured out” before calling Bret a “phony”! Jericho continues that Bret is not “concerned” about beating The Nexus, Bret is “concerned” about getting the “beating” of his life at the hands of Edge & Jericho before calling Bret “scared” and stating that Team WWE can not beat The Nexus at SummerSlam without him or Edge and that “no one” can “replace” either of them on the team or in the WWE before stating that, once again, “Bret Hart is screwed”! Jericho continues that he is not interested in teaming with John Cena and even less interested in teaming with Bret Hart because all he cares about is “dismantling” Bret Hart in the main event! This brings out “The Rated-R Superstar” Edge who reminds Chris Jericho that Bret Hart is the “reason” they got into the business! Edge continues that Jericho trained in the legendary Hart Dungeon while he grew up in Toronto where he had a poster of Bret Hart on his wall and went to see Bret compete with the hopes that Bret would place his trademark sunglasses on Edge’s head before telling Bret that he can count him in as a part of Team WWE! Jericho then leaves the ring as Edge tries to cheap shot Bret Hart, but Bret catches the foot of Edge and is getting ready to lock in the Sharpshooter when Jericho comes back into the ring and delivers a thumb to the eye of Bret, allowing Edge & Jericho to escape! As Edge & Chris Jericho exit, an emotional and tear-filled Natalya rushes into the ring and pleads for Bret’s help before the big screen shows The Nexus in the middle of a vicious attack on The Hart Dynasty; an attack that ends with Wade Barrett delivering a vicious kick to the head of David Hart Smith! Barrett then reveals that The Hart Dynasty were set to replace Edge & Chris Jericho on Team WWE as Bret Hart & Natalya rush to the backstage area!

Backstage, Bret Hart & Natalya are with The Hart Dynasty as a WWE doctor checks on the Unified WWE Tag Team Champions before Bret grabs a steel chair and states that he is going to take matter into his “own hands”, but Bret is stopped by John Cena who convinces Bret to stay and take care of The Hart Dynasty, citing that Bret Hart going after The Nexus alone is just what The Nexus wants! John Cena then states that he is going to talk to The Great Khali! Can John Cena keep Team WWE from completely falling apart just six nights before SummerSlam?

United States Champion & “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” The Miz was in action on RAW as The Miz would go one-on-one with the high-flying Evan Bourne! In the end, it was The Miz hitting the Skull Crushing Finale on Evan Bourne to pick up the win!

One week after surprising everyone by making her return to the WWE and leaving the Divas Champion, Alicia Fox, laid out, “The A-List Diva” Melina would make her return to action as she would go one-on-one with Divas Champion Alicia Fox in a non-title match! In the end, it was Melina hitting the Last Call on Alicia Fox en route to pinning the Divas Champion! By pinning the champion, Melina has earned a shot at the Divas Title, but when will Melina get her shot at the gold?

Backstage, The Great Khali is interviewed about his affiliation and Khali emphatically states “WWE”, signifying his alliance with Team WWE, before challenging Nexus leader, Wade Barrett, to a one-on-one match! Six nights before Team WWE faces The Nexus at SummerSlam, can The Great Khali send a strong message to The Nexus or will Wade Barrett make an example of The Great Khali?

Following her non-title victory over Alicia Fox, it was announced that, this Sunday at SummerSlam, Alicia Fox will defend her Divas Title against “The A-List Diva” Melina! Can Melina regain the Divas Title or will Alicia Fox ruin the return of Melina?

Backstage, Team WWE teammates R-Truth & John Morrison are confronted by “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry, who throws his name in the hat as a possible replacement for both Edge & Chris Jericho on Team WWE before telling R-Truth & Morrison that they should consider his match an “audition”! However, it is then revealed that The Nexus saw this conversation between Mark Henry, R-Truth, & John Morrison and Wade Barrett gives The Nexus the nod before they leave the locker room! After assaulting potential Team WWE replacements, The Hart Dynasty, does The Nexus have their sights set on taking out Mark Henry as well?

After his conversation with R-Truth & John Morrison about possibly joining Team WWE, “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry was set to go one-on-one with “The Fortunate Son” Ted DiBiase, but on Mark Henry’s way to the ring, Henry spotted Nexus members Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel standing on the steel ring steps, which distracted Mark Henry long enough for four more Nexus members to jump Mark Henry from behind as six of the seven Nexus members beat down Mark Henry before sending Henry crashing into the steel ring steps, leaving Mark Henry unconscious! What is the status of Mark Henry following this attack? Does The Nexus intend to take out every potential replacement that Team WWE could have?

Six nights before he defends the WWE Title against Randy Orton at SummerSlam, WWE Champion Sheamus made an appearance to call out his SummerSlam opponent, Randy Orton! The confident champion states that, last week, he was “afraid”; afraid of what he would do to Randy Orton before proclaiming that he fears “nobody” and that he has “ended careers” in the ring before calling out the #1 Contender to his WWE Title, Randy Orton! The #1 Contender wastes no time in coming out as Randy Orton enters the ring to confront the WWE Champion! Orton tells the champion that Sheamus is “full of it” when Sheamus says that he was “afraid” of what he would do to Orton! Orton continues that Sheamus had the opportunity to prove that everyone should take him “seriously”, but Sheamus blew the opportunity, just like he at SummerSlam because Sheamus has never defeated him! Sheamus vows to retain the WWE Title and ensure that Randy Orton will never get another title opportunity as long as he is WWE Champion! Orton responds by vowing that he will win the WWE Title at SummerSlam and tells Sheamus to redeem himself from last week and “do something about it”! The anonymous RAW General Manager then chimes in with an email that announces that, given Sheamus’ last two title defenses, any Superstar that interferes in the WWE Title match at SummerSlam will be “suspended indefinitely” and that, if Randy Orton fails to win the WWE Title this Sunday, Orton will not get a rematch for the WWE Title as long as Sheamus is champion! The anonymous GM then challenges Sheamus to “do something about it” against Randy Orton, but Sheamus shakes his head before trying to fake Orton out! However, when Sheamus tries to leave the ring, Orton strikes from behind, but Sheamus fights back and is set to deliver the pump kick, but Orton dodges the move and hits a backbreaker on the WWE Champion! Orton would then set up for the punt, but would stop just short of kicking Sheamus in the skull, not wanting to jeopardize his WWE Title match at SummerSlam! Orton would then slide to the outside and pick up the WWE Title before holding it up to Sheamus! Can Randy Orton walk out of SummerSlam as the WWE Champion or will Sheamus be able to retain the coveted gold?

With WWE Champion Sheamus still seething at ringside over his confrontation with Randy Orton, the six remaining NXT Rookies got the opportunity to compete on RAW as Kaval, Lucky Cannon, & “Showtime” Percy Watson would face Alex Riley, Husky Harris, & Michael McGillicutty in a 6-Man Tag match! In the end, it was Husky Harris hitting the Husky Senton en route to pinning Kaval to pick up the win! After the match was over, Sheamus blasted Lucky Cannon and left Lucky laid out before hurling Michael McGillicutty into the ringside barricade and hitting Kaval with the High Cross Powerbomb in the ring before grabbing a microphone and proclaiming that, at the same time on next week’s RAW, he will still be the WWE Champion! Will Sheamus still be the WWE Champion next week or will Randy Orton have dethroned the confident champion?

Six nights before they are part of Team WWE at SummerSlam, R-Truth & John Morrison would square off with William Regal & Zack Ryder in tag team action! In the end, it was John Morrison hitting Starship Pain en route to pinning Zack Ryder to pick up the win! R-Truth & John Morrison appear unified, but can the rest of Team WWE stay on the same page?

In a very special Divas Match, six Divas would face off in the Divas Summertime Spectacular as Maryse & Jillian, Eve Torres & Gail Kim, & The Bella Twins would compete in their bathing suits in a Triple Threat Tag Team Match with Santino Marella as the Special Referee! At the end of a unique Divas contest, it was one of The Bella Twins hitting a high cross body on Jillian en route to picking up the win! After the match, Tamina came out in her swimsuit and got in the face of Santino Marella before allowing Santino to leave, but not before slapping the behind of Santino! Is Tamina interested in Santino Marella?

Backstage, The Great Khali is making his way to the ring to go one-on-one with Nexus leader Wade Barrett when the seven Nexus members attack Khali and the ruthless group viciously assaults Khali, slamming Khali’s knee onto the solid concrete in the process! What is the status of The Great Khali following this attack? Has The Nexus taken The Great Khali off of Team WWE at SummerSlam?

After assaulting The Great Khali, the seven members of The Nexus appear and Nexus leader Wade Barrett states that his scheduled match against Khali has been “cancelled” before proclaiming that, after they beat Team WWE at SummerSlam, the “balance of power will shift dramatically and permanently” and they will have accomplished what no one in the WWE could ever imagine! Skip Sheffield then proclaims that RAW is their show and that Bret Hart will join the likes of Ricky Steamboat and Mr. McMahon as “victims” of The Nexus as Bret will “never be seen again” after SummerSlam and that The Nexus will “break” the members of Team WWE “mentally” to the point that they will never be able to recover! David Otunga then sends a stern warning to anyone who is thinking of joining Team WWE as replacements to take a look at what they did to the potential replacements before proclaiming that “you are either Nexus or against us”!

Backstage, John Cena & Bret Hart on their way to the ring to face Edge & Chris Jericho in the main event when they are confronted by United States Champion & “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” The Miz, who makes Cena & Bret admit they need his help on Team WWE before stating that he will let them know this Sunday! With Team WWE in desperate need of replacements, will The Miz fill one of those spots at SummerSlam? Will The Nexus intervene and do to The Miz what they did to the other potential replacements?

Then it was time for the main event as Team WWE members John Cena & Bret “The Hitman” Hart would face the two Superstars who quit the team last week, Edge & Chris Jericho in a Lumberjack Match with the seven ruthless and unpredictable members of The Nexus serving as the Lumberjacks! However, the match quickly got out of hand as, on the outside of the ring, The Nexus proceeded to beat down both Edge & Chris Jericho after Jericho inadvertently knocked heads with Nexus leader Wade Barrett! As Edge & Jericho walked back up the ramp, the seven members of The Nexus got on the apron of the ring, set to do the unthinkable to John Cena & Bret Hart, but Team WWE teammates R-Truth & John Morrison rush to the ring to join Cena & Bret! The Nexus then enters the ring and comes face-to-face with Cena, Bret, R-Truth, & Morrison with The Nexus still having a three man advantage, but then, in a shocking change of heart, Edge & Chris Jericho rush to the side of the four Superstars, setting up a seven-on-six brawl that forces The Nexus to retreat through the crowd! If The Miz opts to join Team WWE this Sunday at SummerSlam, then the Tag Team Elimination Match will be back to a 7-on-7 situation! With the last minute decision by Edge & Chris Jericho to join back up with Team WWE and with The Miz a possibility to round out the team, can Team WWE rid the WWE of The Nexus this Sunday at SummerSlam or will The Nexus continue their reign of terror?
