The show kicks off with the introduction of the WWE Pros & NXT Rookies as WWE Pros Kofi Kingston, Zack Ryder, LayCool, John Morrison, MVP, “Dashing” Cody Rhodes, and United States Champion & “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” The Miz take their seats on the stage and NXT Rookies Michael McGillicutty, Kaval, “Showtime” Percy Watson”, Lucky Cannon, Husky Harris, & Alex Riley take their spots standing on the stage opposite the Pros! Once everyone takes their spots, NXT Host Matt Striker reveals that, due to the injuries dealt to him by The Nexus on RAW, Lucky Cannon’s Pro, Mark Henry, will be unable to be present. Matt Striker then makes the announcement that the Season Finale of NXT will take place in three weeks’ time and the Season Finale will be centered around determining who the sole Rookie is who will be WWE’s next breakout star and who will earn a title shot at a future pay-per-view! Striker then introduces the Power of the Punch Challenge where the Rookies will take turns at a boxing machine where they will hit the bag on the machine and whoever gets the highest score wins with the prize being their own individual appearance on next week’s edition of Monday Night RAW! Michael McGillicutty was the first Rookie to take the challenge as the number one Rookie scored an 863, followed by Kaval, who gets disqualified for kicking the bag instead of punching it! Next up was “Showtime” Percy Watson, who scored a 716, followed by Lucky Cannon who scored a 744! Husky Harris was up next and was surprised when he only scored a 380 and demanded a redo, which he was denied! Alex Riley was the last Rookie to take the challenge and Riley scored a 896 to win the Power of the Punch Challenge and earn his own individual appearance on RAW next Monday night! After winning the challenge, Alex Riley proclaims that he is the “best all-in-all athlete” of all the Rookies and proclaims that his Pro was a “reality star”, but he is a “star in reality”! What will Alex Riley do in his appearance on next week’s RAW? Will Alex Riley even be a part of NXT Season Two after the third NXT Poll is revealed and another Rookie is eliminated?

After a confrontation during a commercial break, it was revealed that, after trying to get John Morrison to beg him to be a part of Team WWE at SummerSlam, but Morrison refused and instead challenged The Miz to a match, which “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” accepted! Can John Morrison show The Miz that Team WWE does not need The Miz or will The Miz show that Team WWE does need him?

In a rematch from RAW, the six Rookies would face off as Kaval, Lucky Cannon, & “Showtime” Percy Watson would face Alex Riley, Husky Harris, & Michael McGillicutty in a 6-Man Tag Match! At the end of a chaotic match, it was Kaval hitting the Warrior’s Way on Michael McGillicutty to win the match for himself, Lucky Cannon, & “Showtime” Percy Watson! Will this impressive win sway the votes in favor of Kaval in the third NXT Poll?

Former friends turned enemies and WWE Pros would face off as United States Champion & “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” The Miz would go one-on-one with “The Guru of Greatness” John Morrison! At the end of a hard-fought match, it was John Morrison missing the Flying Chuck that allowed The Miz to take advantage and hit the Skull Crushing Finale en route to picking up the win! Has The Miz proved his worth to Team WWE or can the six members of Team WWE succeed against The Nexus without The Miz?

Then it was time for the third NXT Poll to be revealed as, depending on their ranking in the NXT Poll, another Rookie will be eliminated as Kaval, Alex Riley, Husky Harris, Lucky Cannon, Michael McGillicutty, & “Showtime” Percy Watson will be voted for by the WWE Pros and WWE fans with the Rookie ranked last being sent home! With the six remaining NXT Rookies lined up at ringside, NXT Host Matt Striker asks Michael McGillicutty who should be sent home and McGillicutty states that Lucky Cannon should be eliminated because Cannon is “lucky” to be getting an opportunity in NXT, so he should go home! Kaval is asked the same question and Kaval gives the same answer as Kaval states that Lucky Cannon has not made the necessary “impact” needed to be a WWE Superstar! After initially dodging the question, “Showtime” Percy Watson would state that Alex Riley should be eliminated because Riley “talks too much”! After having two Rookies say he should be eliminated, Lucky Cannon was asked the question of who should be eliminated and Cannon stated that everyone but himself should be eliminated, because no one “wants it” more than him! Husky Harris is asked the same question and Husky states that Lucky Cannon should be eliminated, citing that Cannon has not won a match! Finally, Alex Riley gives his opinion on who should be eliminated and, after saying he wishes NXT Host Matt Striker would be sent home for asking “stupid questions”, Riley states that Michael McGillicutty should be eliminated because he will win the competition, not McGillicutty! Then it was time to reveal the third NXT Poll and it was revealed that “The World Warrior” Kaval was back on top as the Rookie takes the number one spot away from Michael McGillicutty with McGillicutty dropping to number two! The number three Rookie was revealed to be “Showtime” Percy Watson and the number four Rookie was revealed to be Husky Harris, who moved up two spots in the rankings from the second NXT Poll and it also marked the first time that Husky has not been in danger of being eliminated! With the first four revealed, it then came down to Alex Riley and Lucky Cannon as one of the Rookie’s dreams will be dashed depending on where they are ranked and it was revealed that Alex Riley secured the number five spot, meaning that Lucky Cannon is eliminated from NXT! After learning of his elimination, Lucky Cannon delivered his parting words by calling Kaval a “nine year old who sounds like Barry White” and calling Percy Watson a “poor imitation of Eddie Murphy” before vowing that the fans have not seen the “last” of Lucky Cannon! Alex Riley then comments on narrowly avoiding elimination by stating that he will not “change” who he is to “cater” to the WWE fans and he will prove on next week’s RAW and over the next three weeks of NXT that he will win NXT Season Two and he will, one day, be a WWE Champion! NXT Host Matt Striker then drops the bombshell that next week’s NXT will see a double elimination as two Rookies will be sent home on the same night! Which two NXT Rookies will be eliminated next week? Who will be the final three Rookies remaining?
