SummerSlam Fallout

The 900th episode of WWE Monday Night RAW came to you from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. Eight nights after John Cena made the shocking announcement that none other than Daniel Bryan would be the seventh member of Team WWE at SummerSlam, replacing The Miz, who thought he would be the seventh member, The Miz would get his shot at revenge as the United States Champion & “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” would go one-on-one with the leader of Team WWE, John Cena!

Monday Night RAW (August 23, 2010)
Good Week For: Daniel Bryan (got a measure of revenge on The Miz by forcing Miz to tap out to the LeBell Lock)
Bad Week For: Sheamus (found out he would be defending the WWE Title in a 6-Pack Challenge at Night of Champions)

Detailed Results Follow…

One week after being pummeled with a steel chair and laid out with the RKO on the outside of the ring by Randy Orton, the show kicks off with WWE Champion Sheamus! Sheamus immediately targets the kids in the audience by calling them “spoiled” and calls Randy Orton an “even bigger spoiled child”! Sheamus then proclaims that, despite Randy Orton’s attack, Orton is still not the WWE Champion and Orton should “never” get a shot at the WWE Title again! The anonymous RAW General Manager then chimes in with an email that announces that Sheamus does deserve to be “rewarded”, so the GM has a throne brought out and placed on the stage before announcing that Sheamus will get to choose his challenger for WWE Night of Champions as there will be a series of matches and, at the end of the night, Sheamus will get to select which Superstar gets a WWE Title shot at Night of Champions! Who will compete in the series of matches? Who will Sheamus ultimately choose to face him with the WWE Title on the line at WWE Night of Champions?

With WWE Champion Sheamus seated on the stage to scout which Superstar he will choose to face him at Night of Champions with the WWE Title on the line, the first two potential #1 Contenders were revealed as “The Rated-R Superstar” Edge would go one-on-one with R-Truth! At the end of a hard-fought match, it was Edge hitting the Spear on R-Truth en route to picking up the win! After the match, Edge confronts WWE Champion Sheamus and tells the champion that, until Sheamus he has defeated Edge, he has not beaten “anybody”! Has Edge’s win over R-Trruth and Edge’s words after the match impressed Sheamus enough to select Edge as the next #1 Contender for his WWE Title?

As WWE Champion Sheamus continues to scout out his hand-picked #1 Contender for Night of Champions, Chris Jericho would have the unenviable task of going one-on-one with The Great Khali! After working over the injured knee of The Great Khali throughout the match, Chris Jericho would shockingly make the 7’3”, 420 lbs. tap out to the Walls of Jericho to pick up the win! After the match, Chris Jericho pleads his case to WWE Champion Sheamus by saying that he is “the best in the world”! However, Jericho would then turn around and would get chopped by The Great Khali all the way to the outside of the ring! After Chris Jericho forced the giant Great Khali to tap out to the Walls of Jericho, has Chris Jericho impressed Sheamus enough to select him as the next #1 Contender for the WWE Title?

Eight nights after making a successful return complete by defeating Alicia Fox to win the Divas Title, new Divas Champion Melina would go one-on-one with “The Sour Songstress” Jillian with the Divas Title on the line! In the end, it was Melina hitting the Last Call on Jillian en route to retaining the Divas Title! After the match, the self-proclaimed “co-Women’s Champions” Michelle McCool & Layla appeared on the big screen and revealed that they will be among the RAW & SmackDown talent celebrating the 900th Episode of RAW next week and they will have an offer that Melina can not “refuse”! What does LayCool have in store for Melina next week?

One week after exiling Darren Young from their group, the six members of The Nexus come out and the anonymous General Manager of RAW chimes in with an email that reveals that the GM asked The Nexus to come out there to express how impressed he/she was with The Nexus’ individual performances last week before the GM announces that he/she is lifting the ban that has kept the members of The Nexus from challenging for championships! After hearing this news, Nexus leader Wade Barrett informs WWE Champion Sheamus that the truce between them is officially “over”! Now that The Nexus can challenge for championship gold, is Sheamus or any other champion safe from The Nexus?

Eight nights after being replaced on Team WWE by Daniel Bryan at SummerSlam, United States Champion & “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” The Miz would go one-on-one with the leader of Team WWE and the Superstar who chose Daniel Bryan as the replacement, John Cena as WWE Champion Sheamus scouts the two Superstars as a potential #1 Contender for the WWE Title at Night of Champions! In the end, it was The Miz sliding to the outside and was prepared to walk out of the match, but Daniel Bryan would come in from behind and throw Daniel Bryan into the ring and, despite The Miz winning by disqualification for Daniel Bryan’s interference, John Cena would plant The Miz with the Attitude Adjustment before letting Daniel Bryan get a measure of revenge on The Miz as Bryan would synch in the LeBell Lock on, forcing The Miz to tap out! How will The Miz respond to Daniel Bryan forcing him tap out?

Two weeks after Tamina seemed to be flirting with Santino Marella, Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov would face the Tamina managed Jimmy & Jey Uso in tag team action! In the end, it was Vladimir Kozlov hitting the Iron Curtain on Jey Uso en route to picking up the win for himself and Santino Marella! After the match, Jimmy Uso seemed set to attack Santino Marella, but Tamina would step in and prevent the attack before helping Santino to his feet and would later blow a kiss to Santino! What will happen next between Tamina and Santino Marella? How will Jimmy & Jey Uso respond to their manager, Tamina’s infatuation with Santino Marella?

With WWE Champion Sheamus still scouting for his next challenger for the WWE Title, three more Superstars would be looking to impress the WWE Champion as former #1 Contender “The Viper” Randy Orton, “The Monday Night Delight” John Morrison, & “The Fortunate Son” Ted DiBiase would compete in a Triple Threat Match, but as soon as the match began, WWE Champion Sheamus would leave his spot on the stage and head to the back! In the end, it was Randy Orton catching John Morrison with the RKO en route to pinning John Morrison for the win! After the match, Ted DiBiase tried to attack Randy Orton, but Orton would dodge the attack and lay DiBiase out with the RKO as well! After everything that has gone on between WWE Champion Sheamus and Randy Orton, will Sheamus choose Randy Orton as his Night of Champions opponent or will Sheamus try to keep his distance from Randy Orton?

Then it was time for WWE Champion Sheamus to announce who he would be defending his title against at WWE Night of Champions, but Sheamus makes the shocking announcement that he is not going to “wait” until Night of Champions to defend the WWE Title as he is going to defend the gold in the main event of RAW! Sheamus then reveals that he is going to go to “left field” and choose a Superstar who has never received a shot at the WWE Title before Sheamus reveals that his hand-picked challenger will be “The Long Island Iced Z” Zack Ryder! As on would expect, Sheamus made quick work of Zack Ryder after deliving the Pump Kick en route to picking up the win to successfully retaining his WWE Title! After the match, Sheamus revealed that, per the rules of the WWE, he does not have to defend his WWE Title for another thirty days before announcing that he will be taking the night off at Night of Champions! The WWE Champion is then interrupted by Nexus leader, Wade Barrett, who reminds Sheamus that, as the winner of NXT Season One, he was guaranteed a title match at a pay-per-view of his choosing and he is choosing Night of Champions as the event to challenge for the WWE Title! The anonymous RAW General Manager would then chime in with an email that announces that Wade Barrett will get his WWE Title shot at Night of Champions, but the GM would follow that up with the blockbuster announcement that Sheamus will be defending the WWE Title against Wade Barrett and four other RAW Superstars in a 6-Pack Challenge! The GM reveals the rest of Sheamus’ opposition as Chris Jericho, “The Viper” Randy Orton, “The Rated-R Superstar” Edge, & John Cena would also challenge for the WWE Title! All six of these Superstars would then face off in the ring before Sheamus would shove Wade Barrett into the middle of the ring of Superstars as Sheamus, Jericho, Orton, Edge, & Cena surrounded Barrett in the same style that The Nexus has done on so many occasions before the five Superstars attack Barrett before throwing the Nexus leader to the outside! As soon as Wade Barrett was disposed of, WWE Champion Sheamus would turn around right into the Codebreaker of Chris Jericho, but Jericho would then get laid by out the Spear of Edge! In turn, Edge would get laid out with the Attitude Adjustment by John Cena and, finally, Randy Orton would lay Cena out with the RKO, leaving Randy Orton as the last one standing! Does Sheamus have any chance of successfully defending the WWE Title against five very capable Superstars at Night of Champions in a rarely seen 6-Pack Challenge? Who will walk out of Night of Champions as the WWE Champion?

SmackDown Diva Released From Contract: It has been announced on several wrestling websites that SmackDown Diva and member of The Straightedge Society, Serena (real name: Serena Deeb) has been released from her WWE contract over alleged behavioral issues while on the road with the WWE and for not living out her SmackDown character in real life. WWE.com has not yet made a formal announcement on the matter, but the announcement is expected to be made sometime this weekend. Keep checking Wrestling101.com for details.

One week before the Season Finale of NXT, the twelfth week of NXT Season Two came to you from the Save Mart Center at Fresno State in Fresno, CA. One week before one of them is named the WWE’s next breakout star and receive a future title opportunity at a pay-per-view of their choosing, “The World Warrior” Kaval, the third-generation Michael McGillicutty, & “The Varsity Villain” Alex Riley would be looking to impress the WWE Pros and WWE fans into selecting them as the winner of NXT Season Two!

WWE NXT (August 24, 2010)
Good Week For: Kaval (won the WWE Trivia Challenge)
Bad Week For: MVP (despite sticking up for Kaval, still lost to Cody Rhodes)

Detailed Results Follow…

The show kicks off with the introduction of the WWE Pros as Kofi Kingston, “The Long Island Iced Z” Zack Ryder, “Dashing” Cody Rhodes, the self-proclaimed “co-Women’s Champions” Layla & Michelle McCool, & “The Ballin’ Superstar” MVP take their seats on the stage! The three NXT finalists then take their spots as “The World Warrior” Kaval, the third-generation competitor Michael McGillicutty, & “The Varsity Villain” Alex Riley stand in the ring to deliver their thoughts on being a finalist in NXT Season Two! Michael McGillicutty was up first and McGillicutty stated that competing in the WWE is the “greatest job in the world” and it is the “greatest days” of his life and getting to compete in the same ring that his father, “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig, did makes it all “worth it”! Alex Riley is up and Riley states that he “expected” to be a finalist and that he is the “total package” because he “looks the part, walks the part, and talks the part” before warning WWE Champion Sheamus that, if he gets to his guaranteed title opportunity on pay-per-view, then Sheamus will be “dismissed”! Finally, Kaval was up and Kaval states that his celebration of becoming number one was ruined last week by Cody Rhodes because Rhodes’ Rookie was eliminated before stating that Rhodes should have done a better job of mentoring his Rookie! Kaval then states that Cody Rhodes did not earn his way into the WWE, he is there because of his father! Cody Rhodes responds by saying that Kaval believes in “booster seats” and “really bad promos” and a fired up Kaval responds by proclaiming that he is the “last of a dying breed” as he earned his way to where he is at before challenging Cody Rhodes to come into the ring! As he approaches the ring, Cody Rhodes calls Kaval the “gum” that he scrapes off the bottom of his boots and that Kaval is a Rookie while he is a Pro before walking back to the stage and saying his answer is “no”! Fellow WWE Pro MVP intervenes and asks Rhodes what is wrong with him for not accepting Kaval’s challenge and Rhodes responds by asking MVP if Kaval sleeps at the foot of MVP’s bed and calls Kaval’s Pros, LayCool, his “babysitters”! MVP responds by challenging Cody Rhodes to a one-on-one match, which Cody Rhodes accepts! Can MVP back up his standing up for Kaval by defeating Cody Rhodes?

One week before one of them becomes the WWE’s next breakout star, the three remaining Rookies, Kaval, Michael McGillicutty, & Alex Riley would compete in a WWE Trivia Challenge to test their knowledge of WWE history where questions answered correctly in the first round are worth 100 points and correct answers in the more difficult second round are worth 200 points! At the end of the WWE Trivia Challenge, it was Kaval scoring a total 700 points over Michael McGillicutty scoring a total of 500 points and Alex Riley scoring only 200 points! As the winner, Kaval earned a huge feature on WWE.com! Kaval is on the top of his game going into next week’s NXT Season Finale, but who will be the WWE’s next breakout star?

Then it was time for the main event as WWE Pros would face off as “The Ballin’ Superstar” MVP would go one-on-one with “Dashing” Cody Rhodes! At the end of a hard-fought match, it was Cody Rhodes hitting the Cross Rhodes on MVP en route to picking up the win!

The 71st edition of WWE Superstars came to you from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA and from the Save Mart Center in Fresno State in Fresno, CA. One week after tapping out to Jack Swagger, Chris Masters would be looking to get back on track as “The Masterpiece” would go one-on-one with former Intercontinental Champion “The Sinister Scotsman” Drew McIntyre! Also on WWE Superstars, two ring veterans would square off as “The Bizarre Lonestar” Goldust would go one-on-one with the 2008 King of the Ring William Regal.

The opening match of the night saw two veterans square off as “The Bizarre Lonestar” Goldust would go one-on-one with the 2008 King of the Ring William Regal! In the end, it was William Regal hitting a vicious knee to the head of Goldust en route to picking up the win!

WWE Superstars also featured tag team action as, in a rematch from a couple of weeks ago, Curt Hawkins & Vance Archer would face The Dude Busters; Caylen Croft & Trent Barretta. In the end, it was Trent Barretta hitting a rope-walk DDT on Vance Archer en route to picking up the big win!

Then it was time for the main event as “The Sinister Scotsman” Drew McIntyre would go one-on-one with “The Masterpiece” Chris Masters! At the end of a hard-fought match, it was Drew McIntyre hitting the Future Shock DDT on Chris Masters en route to picking up the win!

Luna Vachon Passes Away: It was announced by WWE.com on Friday that former WWE competitor and third-generation wrestler, Luna Vachon (real name: Gertrude Vachon) has passed away at the age of 48. Luna was the daughter of Paul “Butcher” Vachon and the granddaughter of Maurice “Mad Dog” Vachon. Luna made her WWE debut in 1992 and remained in the company until 1994 before going to compete for ECW and WCW before returning to the WWE in 1997 and remaining under contract until 2000. Luna is survived by her two sons.

The 575th edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown came to you from the Save Mart Center at Fresno State in Fresno, CA. After making his shocking return at SummerSlam only to be planted with the Tombstone Piledriver by his own brother, Kane, “The Phenom” of the WWE would make his return to SmackDown as the one and only Undertaker will make his first SmackDown appearance since the May 28 edition of SmackDown, which was just before he was attacked by Kane and left in a vegetative state! While his brother, The Undertaker, will make his return to SmackDown, World Heavyweight Champion Kane would be in action on SmackDown as the sinister “Big Red Machine” would go one-on-one with the Superstar he defended the gold against at SummerSlam, “The Master of the 619” Rey Mysterio, as the two rivals would square off in a non-title No Disqualification Match! After SmackDown Consultant Vickie Guerrero cost him the Intercontinental Title a few weeks ago and Vickie once again cost him in the SummerSlam rematch for the Intercontinental Title last week, Kofi Kingston would get another shot at regaining the gold as Kofi would challenge Intercontinental Champion and Vickie Guerrero’s boyfriend Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental Title and if Dolph got disqualified in the match, then Ziggler would lose the title!

Friday Night SmackDown (August 27, 2010)
Good Week For: Kane (defeated Rey Mysterio in a No Disqualification match and showed no fear to his returning brother, The Undertaker)
Bad Week For: Kofi Kingston (for the third time, was cost the Intercontinental Title by Vickie Guerrero)

Detailed Results Follow…

The show kicks off in a major way as, in a SummerSlam rematch, the World Heavyweight Champion Kane would go one-on-one with an injured Rey Mysterio, who was still recovering from his match against Alberto Del Rio last week, in a non-title No Disqualification Match! Through kendo sticks and steel chairs, it looked like Rey Mysterio would pick up the win after hitting the 619, but when Rey went to capitalize with the seated senton, Kane was able to catch Mysterio by the throat and deliver a vicious chokeslam on top of a steel chair en route to the World Heavyweight Champion picking up the win! After the match, a trainer and referees help Rey Mysterio out of the ring, but the confident new SmackDown Superstar who injured the shoulder of Rey and forced him tap out last week emerged as Alberto Del Rio made his way to ringside and mockingly asked Rey if Mysterio was going to be okay before Del Rio would grab the injured Mysterio and throw Rey, shoulder-first, into the ringstone barricade before once again locking in his cross armbreaker submission! Del Rio would eventually release the hold and would start to leave before coming back and grabbing the steel chair in the ring before proceeding to lock Rey’s arm in the chair and throwing Rey, shoulder-first, into the steel post! What is the status of Rey Mysterio after all of the punishment to his shoulder over the last two weeks at the hands of Alberto Del Rio?

With The Straightedge Society of Luke Gallows, Serena, & Joseph Mercury at ringside, “The Straightedge Savior” CM Punk was in action against “The Brooklyn Baller” JTG! At the end, it was CM Punk hitting the GTS to seemingly win the match, but Punk would lock in the Anaconda Vice and force JTG to tap out to pick up the impressive win! After the match, CM Punk orders The Straightedge Society to enter the ring and kneel before him as he states that he “leads by example” and he expects The Straightedge Society to do like he does when Luke Gallows faces Big Show later! Punk then tells The Straightedge Society to “be better or be gone”! Can The Straightedge Society fulfill CM Punk’s wishes or will those who do not be “gone”?

After losing the Intercontinental Title to Dolph Ziggler, thanks to SmackDown Consultant Vickie Guerrero, a few weeks ago on SmackDown, and after Dolph got himself disqualified, thanks to Vickie Guerrero, to retain the gold last week, Kofi Kingston would challenge Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental Title once again, but this time, if Dolph gets disqualified, he would lose the Intercontinental Title! In the end, both Dolph Ziggler and Kofi Kingston laid each other out with dueling clotheslines on the outside of the ring! Both Superstars would race for the ring and both Superstars would make it to the apron of the ring, but as Kofi Kingston made it into the ring, Vickie Guerrero would halt Dolph Ziggler long enough for the referee to reach his ten count, meaning that Kofi Kingston won the match, but since it was by count-out, Dolph Ziggler retained the Intercontinental Title! After the match, an enraged Kofi would chase Dolph through the crowd! After Vickie Guerrero once again cost Kofi Kingston the Intercontinental Title, will Kofi Kingston get another opportunity at the gold?

After losing to MVP a couple of weeks ago on SmackDown, “The All-American American” Jack Swagger would face “The Ballin’ Superstar” MVP in the Jack Swagger, Sr. Invitational as Swagger and MVP would compete in an amateur wrestling contest where the winner is determined by who gets five takedowns and the Superstar who does that will win with the stipulation that, if Swagger wins, then Swagger gets to host MVP’s “VIP Lounge” and if MVP wins, then MVP will have an “End of the Summer” party and Swagger would have to pick up the tab! After being down three falls to none, MVP would slap Jack Swagger, which would see MVP getting disqualified in the Amateur Wrestling Contest, meaning that Jack Swagger will get to host MVP’s “VIP Lounge”! After the contest, Jack Swagger would blast MVP from behind on the outside and lock in the ankle lock, forcing MVP to tap out! What will Jack Swagger have in store when he hosts “The VIP Lounge”?

One week after forcing Rey Mysterio to tap out to his cross armbreaker in his debut match last week and viciously assaulting Rey Mysterio earlier in the night, SmackDown’s newest Superstar Alberto Del Rio was in action on SmackDown against local competitor Carlos Sanchez! In the end, it was Alberto Del Rio making relatively quick work of the Fresno native by forcing Carlos Sanchez to tap out to the cross armbreaker!

With Kelly Kelly in his corner, “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show would go one-on-one with “The Straightedge Enforcer” Luke Gallows, with S.E.S. members Serena & Joseph Mercury in his corner! In the end, it was Big Show leaving Luke Gallows laying with the Knockout Punch en route to picking up the win! How will CM Punk respond to Luke Gallows’ loss to Big Show?

Then it was time for the moment that WWE fans had been waiting for as “The Phenom” of the WWE would return to SmackDown as, for the fist time since making his shocking return at SummerSlam only to be laid out with the Tombstone Piledriver by his brother Kane, The Undertaker would return to Friday Nights to respond to his own brother, Kane, leaving him in a vegetative state over Memorial Day weekend! After making his chilling and familiar entrance, a still weakened Undertaker states that, he may look “dead”, but he is far from it and he is still “The Deadman” and the ring is still his “yard”! The Undertaker continues that he will “never pardon the guilty” and that his brother, Kane, is “guilty of a treacherous betrayal” and it is a “betrayal” that Kane will “pay dearly for”! Undertaker continues that Kane has a “diseased soul” and the “disease” has “festered and turned into a web of lies” and those “lies” are that Kane could ever fill his boots and “the biggest lie of them all” is that Kane thinks he can carry his “holy grail”, the World Heavyweight Championship! This brings out the World Heavyweight Champion, Kane, who accuses his brother of spinning a “web of lies” and that he can see the “weakness” in The Undertaker! Kane then states that The Undertaker is no longer “The Phenom” and that The Undertaker is not even a “shadow” of what he used to be and he will crush Undertaker under his boot and drop Undertaker on his head again just like he did at SummerSlam before proclaiming that he is now the “dominant brother” and he has “nothing left to prove”! The Undertaker responds by saying that there is a reason that Kane has always walked in his “shadow” and, while Kane calls himself the “devil’s favorite demon”, he built the “house” that the devil lives in “brick by fiery brick” and when he “comes calling”, the devil still answers with “sir”! Undertaker then tells his brother that Kane is “not worthy” of holding the World Heavyweight Title and, most of all, Kane is “unworthy” of being his brother! The Undertaker continues that he taught Kane everything Kane knows about “evil”, but he did not teach Kane everything Kane knows! The Undertaker then proclaims that when “the fight starts, it will end the same way”! Kane responds by saying that they both know it will end the “same way” it did at SummerSlam with The Undertaker “sprawled helpless” at his feet before vowing on their mother’s grave that The Undertaker will “never rest in peace”! Is what Kane speaks true? When these brothers clash again, will the result be the same with Kane standing tall or will The Undertaker regain his dominance over Kane and the WWE?

Release of a SmackDown Diva Confirmed: WWE.com made the official announcement on Friday that World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of SmackDown Diva and member of The Straightedge Society, Serena (real name: Serena Deeb). Serena made her WWE debut on the January 22 edition of SmackDown when she allowed CM Punk to shave her head as an initiation to join The Straightedge Society.
