The 902nd edition of WWE Monday Night RAW came to you, live, from the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. One week after their shocking attack on The Undertaker that left one of the WWE’s most legendary Superstars laid out, the ruthless group known as The Nexus will invade the nation’s capital just thirteen nights before Nexus leader, Wade Barrett, is one of five challengers in the Six Pack Challenge for the WWE Title at Night of Champions!

Monday Night RAW (September 6, 2010)
Good Week For: Randy Orton (defeated Wade Barrett in the main event and laid both Edge & WWE Champion Sheamus out with the RKO)
Bad Week For: Chris Jericho (lost his spot in the, now, Five Pack Challenge for the WWE Title at Night of Champions)

Detailed Results Follow…

One week after attacking and leaving The Undertaker laid out on last week’s 900th Episode of RAW, the show kicks off with the five ruthless members of The Nexus and Nexus leader, Wade Barrett, proclaims that they “single-handedly, systematically, destroyed a WWE institution” in The Undertaker! David Otunga then states that their attack on The Undertaker should “put to rest any doubts about The Nexus and their weakness” before proclaiming that they are “the new phenoms” of the WWE and they had the “greatest night” of their lives last week! Michael Tarver then states that, anyone else would sit back and “savor” an attack on The Undertaker, but not them as they went on to win a 5-on-5 Elimination Tag Match against five of RAW’s best Superstars and states that Edge & Chris Jericho took themselves out of the match because they were “scared” and wanted no part of The Nexus! Heath Slater then proclaims that, last week, he pinned the WWE Champion, Sheamus! Justin Gabriel then proclaims that no one else could have hit their finishing maneuver on both The Undertaker & John Cena in the same night like he did last week with the 450 Splash! Gabriel continues that, every time he hits the 450 Splash on John Cena, it gets “more and more satisfying” and that John Cena “can see” him! Nexus leader Wade Barrett then proclaims that he “devenomized” “The Viper” Randy Orton before proclaiming that, at Night of Champions, he will beat all five of his opponents to win the WWE Title and that it will be “historic” and “groundbreaking”! However, The Nexus leader would be interrupted by none other than “The Viper” Randy Orton, who states that, what he took away from last week’s match was that he eliminated two of the members of The Nexus within thirty seconds before vowing that he will make it his “business” to hit Wade Barrett with an RKO at Night of Champions! Wade Barrett responds by daring Randy Orton to come into the ring and “try” to hit him with an RKO! However, as Randy Orton approaches the ring, the anonymous RAW General Manager chimes with an email that announces that The Nexus will be in individual competition in two main event matches on RAW as Justin Gabriel will go one-on-one with John Cena before announcing that, for the first time ever, Nexus leader Wade Barrett will go one-on-one with “The Viper” Randy Orton with the rest of The Nexus banned from ringside for both matches! How will Wade Barrett fair in a one-on-one match against Randy Orton with The Nexus banned from ringside?

One week after getting himself intentionally counted out and abandoning his team in the 5-on-5 Elimination Tag Match against The Nexus last week, Chris Jericho makes his way to the ring to compete when the anonymous RAW General Manager chimes in with an email that makes the huge announcement that, as a result of their actions last week, if Edge or Chris Jericho lose their respective matches on RAW then they will be removed from the Six Pack Challenge for the WWE Title at Night of Champions!

After discovering that, per the orders of the anonymous GM, if he loses his match, he will be removed from the Six Pack Challenge for the WWE Title at Night of Champions, Chris Jericho would go one-on-one with “The Monday Night Delight” John Morrison! At the end of a hard fought match, it was John Morrison hitting Starship Pain on Chris Jericho en route to picking up the big upset win to knock Chris Jericho out of the Six Pack Challenge for the WWE Title at Night of Champions! After the match, a distraught and visibly upset Chris Jericho slowly exited the ring, begging the question, what is next for Chris Jericho now that he is no longer a part of the Six Pack Challenge for the WWE Title? Can Edge win his match later on or will Edge also be removed from the WWE Title match?

Thirteen nights before she faces Layla or Michelle McCool in a Title Unification Lumberjack Match for both the Women’s & Divas Titles at Night of Champions, Melina would defend her Divas Title against the Diva she defeated at SummerSlam to win the title in Alicia Fox! In the end, it was Melina hitting the Sunset Split on Alicia Fox en route to successfully retaining her Divas Title! Can Melina defeat either Layla or Michelle McCool to unify the Women’s & Divas Titles at Night of Champions in the Title Unification Lumberjack Match?

Backstage, Edge is discussing his issues with having his spot in the, now, Five Pack Challenge for the WWE Title at Night of Champions put on the line with Zack Ryder and Ryder comes up with the plan to have Edge face him! Edge responds by agreeing that it is a good idea, citing that Ryder “sucks” and he used to think Ryder was a “tool”! Edge would then plead, to the sky, to the anonymous RAW General Manager to make Zack Ryder his opponent and threatens to “smash” the laptop that the anonymous GM uses to communicate his decisions if the GM does not comply! Will Edge get his wish by having Zack Ryder as his opponent or will the anonymous General Manager refuse Edge’s request?

It was announced during RAW that next week’s RAW will be the Season Premiere of Monday Night RAW and it will feature a concept not seen in roughly three years as RAW Roulette returns; a concept where various match aspects are determined by the spin of a wheel! What unpredictable matches and situations will be seen during RAW Roulette during RAW’s Season Premiere next week?

After bragging that he has hit his 450 Splash multiple times on John Cena, Nexus’ resident high-flyer, Justin Gabriel, would go one-on-one with the former WWE Champion, John Cena, with the rest of The Nexus banned from ringside! At the end of a hard-fought match, it was John Cena hitting the Attitude Adjustment off of the top rope on Justin Gabriel en route to picking up the win! Can John Cena emerge victorious as the WWE Champion in the Five Pack Challenge at Night of Champions?

United States Champion & “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” The Miz makes an appearance and states that people always tell him he does not “belong” because he is a former reality star! Miz continues that he competed in the defunct show Tough Enough and was even a host of SmackDown before forming a successful tag team with John Morrison and people said that, when Miz & Morrison split, Miz would fall into obscurity! Miz continues that, by winning the United States Title and earning a guaranteed title opportunity by winning the Money-in-the-Bank briefcase, which would make him “the biggest star” in the WWE! Miz would then unveil the October edition of WWE Magazine with him on the cover! Miz then demands that the crowd stand up and “admit” that they were “wrong” about him because he “made it” and he is the “poster child”, not John Cena or Randy Orton, before proclaiming that he has “earned the right” to call himself “awesome”! Daniel Bryan then comes out and admits that he is not the Superstar that The Miz is and he does not have the “style” that Miz does and states that he has to wear his ring gear backstage just to keep from being thrown out of the arena! Daniel Bryan then states that, given the opportunity, he can beat The Miz and win the United States Title! Miz responds by saying that Daniel Bryan does not “deserve” a shot at the United States Title! Daniel Bryan then states that he can make The Miz tap out and he can defeat The Miz to take the United States Title! The Miz responds by saying that he does not “like” Daniel Bryan and he will “annihilate” Daniel Bryan before Bryan interrupts and asks whether he is getting his United States Title shot or not and The Miz accepts the challenge! The Miz would then try to cheap shot Daniel Bryan with his microphone, but Bryan would dodge the shot and catch The Miz in the LeBell Lock before Miz’s eliminated Rookie from the wrapped NXT Season Two, Alex Riley, rushes in from the crowd and attacks Daniel Bryan, but as The Miz makes his escape, Daniel Bryan locks in the LeBell Lock on Alex Riley, forcing the ex-Rookie to tap out! Daniel Bryan would then kick the face of The Miz on Miz’s WWE Magazine cover! Can Daniel Bryan silence The Miz by defeating Miz for the United States Title at Night of Champions or will The Miz “annihilate” Daniel Bryan as promised to retain the United States Title?

Delivered via text message to Michael Cole’s phone, it was announced that, on next week’s Season Premiere of RAW, John Cena will go one-on-one with the winner of the main event between Randy Orton and Wade Barrett! Who will John Cena face next week, Randy Orton or Wade Barrett?

After giving the ultimatum to the anonymous RAW General Manager to either make Zack Ryder his opponent or have the laptop that the GM communicates through destroyed, the GM sent The Great Khali out as Edge’s opponent!

One week after getting himself intentionally disqualified and subsequently abandoning his team in the 5-on-5 Elimination Tag Match against The Nexus last week, “The Rated-R Superstar” Edge would go one-on-one with The Great Khali and, if Edge loses, he will be removed from the, now, Five Pack Challenge for the WWE Title at Night of Champions! In the end, it was Edge using The Great Khali’s brother, Ranjin Singh and attacking the knee of Khali to earn the count-out victory! However, after deciding it best not to destroy the laptop earlier on, Edge would learn via an email from the anonymous GM that the match between Edge and The Great Khali would be restarted as a No Disqualification Over-The-Top Rope Challenge! In the end, Edge narrowly managed to bring The Great Khali over the top rope to the outside to secure his spot in the Six Pack Challenge for the WWE Title at Night of Champions! Can Edge win the WWE Title in the Five Pack Challenge at Night of Champions?

Thirteen nights before they are three of five combatants in the Five Pack Challenge for the WWE Title at Night of Champions, WWE Champion Sheamus, John Cena, & Edge were all three guests on commentary was as two of the Night of Champions opponents would face off as “The Viper” Randy Orton would go one-on-one with Nexus leader Wade Barrett with the rest of The Nexus banned from ringside! When it looked like Wade Barrett was in complete control of Randy Orton, Wade Barrett would find himself distracted as, after being exiled from The Nexus a few weeks ago, Darren Young would return and tell Wade Barrett that he will prove that he is not the “weakest link”, but he is the “missing link”, but with Wade Barrett completely distracted by Darren Young, Randy Orton would slither into the ring and catch Wade Barrett with the RKO en route to picking up the win! After the match, Randy Orton would invite Darren Young into the ring only to lay Young out with the RKO as well! Randy Orton would then follow that up with an RKO on WWE Champion Sheamus and an RKO on Edge before Orton would find himself face-to-face with his opponent on next week’s RAW, John Cena! With such an intense history between John Cena & Randy Orton, who will emerge from their one-on-one match next week as the winner just six nights before they are two of five competitors in the Five Pack Challenge for the WWE Title at Night of Champions?

Naomi was up first, but Matt Striker interrupts to say that they need a dance partner in the form of NXT Commentator Michael Cole, complete with leg warmers and ballerina slippers! Despite trying to steal the show, Naomi & Jamie complete their dances with Michael Cole before Matt Striker introduces another guest dance partner in Ring Announcer Tony Chimel! A.J. & Maxine dance with Tony Chimel before Matt Striker brings in NXT Commentator Josh Mathews to uniquely dance with Aksana & Kaitlyn as Mathews does a slow dance with Aksana and, with Kaitlyn, Mathews & the Rookie Diva bust out the robot, the running man, and even the Kid N’ Play dance!
