PRIDE 26: Bad to the Bone DVD Review

Due to the mainstream success of shows like UFC’s Ultimate Fighter and their Spike TV specials, Mixed Martial Arts is starting to gain popularity in the western world. There’s one MMA promotion which hasn’t received as much attention as the Ultimate Fighting Championship, and that’s PRIDE FC. Under the ownership of Dream Stage Entertainment along with K1 and HUSTLE, this MMA promotion has seen some of the biggest names in the sport compete in their ring…

UFC 1 & 2 Double DVD Review

This week I got chance to review history thanks to the good people at FightDVD. I got the chance to look at both UFC 1 and UFC 2 in their entirety on the new two disc DVD presentation. I had seen matches from both these events on compilations but this was the first time I could watch both from start to finish so I was looking forward to getting my DVD player on and reliving history…

UFC 50: The War of ’04 DVD Review

Thanks to those splendid people down at FightDVD I managed to catch up on some missed UFC action this week as UFC 50 winged its way through my letterbox. Being a big UFC fan I was excited to get this into my DVD player and seeing how the UFC was developing after not seeing a few of the last events. The card was headlined by Tito Ortiz going up against Patrick Cote and Matt Hughes trying to once again become UFC welterweight champion against Georges St Pierre…

UFC 43 Meltdown Review

This week I have been lucky enough to get my hands on the latest UFC offering UFC 43: Meltdown thanks to those good people down at ufcvideo. After having mixed views on the last release Sudden Impact I was quite looking forward to see if this event would be back in line with the likes of Vendetta and Onslaught.

UFC 42: Sudden Impact Review

This week I sat down in the comfort of my own arm chair to watch the latest offering from those good people down at UFCVideo. UFC 42 Sudden Impact has been said to be a more low key release from the UFC after so many big events but as always I like to watch events for myself before drawing judgement. So it is with an open mind I watched UFC 42 (DVD) to see if it could follow on from its recent predecessors.

UFC 41: Onslaught Review

This week I sat down to watch the latest 2 disc DVD offering from the UFC. This was the much hyped event for the fighting return of Tank Abbott who most will remember from his days in WCW. This match was not top of the bill though as this honour belonged to Ricco Rodriguez who defended his Heavyweight title against Tim Sylvia. These matches coupled with an exciting under-card meant I was looking forward to a real treat but did this release live up to my expectations?

UFC 40: Vendetta

After last weeks reviews of the new UFC compilations this week, I was able to watch what was hyped as one of the biggest events in UFC history. So I was really looking forward to getting my pen and paper out to review this one especially with the card which included, Newton, Hughes and Liddell topped off by one of the biggest fights ever Ken Shamrock vs. Tito Ortiz for the UFC Light-Heavyweight title.
