Chris Kanyon Passes Away at the Age of 40: As first reported by WWE.com, former WWE & WCW Superstar Christopher “Chris Kanyon” Klucsaritis has passed away at the age of 40. Chris Kanyon made his professional wrestling debut on April 5, 1992 and, since that time, Kanyon has spent time in many wrestling organizations, most notably the WWE & WCW. During his career, Kanyon was a one-time WCW United States Champion, a one-time WWE World Tag Team Champion with Diamond Dallas Page, and a two-time WCW World Tag Team Champion with both Bam Bam Bigelow & Diamond Dallas Page as part of the Jersey Triad. Kanyon retired from wrestling in 2006; the same year that he announced that he was homosexual; citing that he was released from the WWE for that very reason.

The 880th edition of WWE Monday Night RAW came to you, live, from the i wireless Center in Moline, IL. As a result of winning the Rookie Battle Royal on last week’s NXT, the self-proclaimed “A-Lister” David Otunga would take the helms of RAW! Three nights after taking the World Heavyweight Title from Chris Jericho by successfully cashing in his Money-in-the-Bank title opportunity, the new World Heavyweight Champion, Jack Swagger, would make an appearance on RAW!

Monday Night RAW (April 5, 2010)
Good Week For: Randy Orton (pinned the new World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger)
Bad Week For: John Cena (was twice abandoned by his tag team “partner” and was laid out by Batista)

Three nights after successfully cashing in his Money-in-the-Bank title opportunity, the new World Heavyweight Champion, Jack Swagger opens the show on RAW! The new champion states that, before he begins his “State of the Championship Address”, he has a few opening “remarks”! Swagger says that if he wanted to be recognized for who he is; a “champion”, he needed to beat an athlete “superior” to WWE Champion John Cena! Swagger continues that, if he did cash in on Cena, he would have beat the WWE Champion quicker than the nine seconds it took him to beat Jericho! “The All-American Champion” then announces that he is considering giving his “skills” to SmackDown, because “no one on RAW compares to his abilities”! This brings out WWE Champion John Cena, who comes face-to-face with the World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger! “The Champ” starts by congratulating Swagger and calling him the “luckiest man in the world”! Cena then tells Swagger that winning it was the “easy part” and the fans will look forward to what he is “about to do”! Cena then corrects Swagger by saying that there is one RAW Superstar in the ring who is calling him a “liar” regarding Swagger’s claims of there being no competition for him on RAW! The WWE Champion then tells the new World Heavyweight Champion is not “champion material” and that he “earned” his championship, unlike Jack Swagger, who he calls a “weasel”! Cena then challenges Swagger to face him in a match on RAW and says that he is so “confident” that he can force Swagger to tap out that he is willing to put his WWE Title on the line! This brings out “The Viper” Randy Orton, who steps into the ring with the WWE Champion & World Heavyweight Champion! Randy Orton states that Swagger would, no doubt, want to face the man who beat him last week, which is Orton! Unified WWE Tag Team Champions The Miz & Big Show then interrupt! The Miz says the show is not about any of them, it is about ShoMiz! This brings out the RAW Guest Host, NXT Rookie David Otunga, who said he plans to fulfill his promise of a “top notch” show on RAW! Otunga then announces that new World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger will go one-on-one with Randy Orton and that The Miz & Big Show will defend the Unified WWE Tag Team Titles against bitter rivals Batista & WWE Champion John Cena! Following this huge announcement, Randy Orton tried to surprise John Cena with an RKO, but Cena shoved Orton off of the attempt and Orton immediately hit the RKO on Jack Swagger! In his first match since winning the World Heavyweight Title on SmackDown, can Jack Swagger defeat Randy Orton on his last night on RAW before heading to SmackDown? What will happen when WrestleMania opponents Batista & WWE Champion John Cena are forced to team together to challenge The Miz & Big Show for the Unified WWE Tag Team Titles? Will Batista & Cena actually unseat ShoMiz as the Unified WWE Tag Team Titles?

One week after he remorselessly blasted Triple H from behind with a lead pipe during Triple H’s emotional goodbye to Shawn Michaels, “The Celtic Warrior” Sheamus went one-on-one with Kofi Kingston in the opening match of the night! Following the Celtic Crucifix Powerbomb, the dominant Sheamus was able to pick up the win over Kofi Kingston! After the match, Sheamus grabs the same lead pipe he used on Triple H last week and cracked a helpless Kofi in the back of the head with the foreign object! Following the attack, Sheamus says his chance to defend the WWE Title at WrestleMania was taken away by Triple H, so that is why he laid out Triple H last week! Sheamus then calls Triple H and the fans “pathetic” for shedding tears last week when Shawn Michaels retired from the WWE! Sheamus then says that the legendary Michaels left the WWE so that he would not have to face “The Celtic Warrior”! Sheamus then says that he does not “believe” that Triple H does not have “one great match” left in him and gives Triple H the ultimatum to either leave with his “head held high” or be put in a “wheel chair”! This brings out Triple H, who stoically makes his way to the ring and gets on the apron of the ring before dropping from the apron to grab his trusty sledgehammer! The sledgehammer of Triple H trumps the lead pipe of Sheamus as Triple H knocks the lead pipe out of Sheamus’ grasp before blasting Sheamus in the mid-section with the signature sledgehammer! This knocks Sheamus out of the ring and, after narrowly avoiding a skull-crushing sledgehammer shot, Sheamus escaped through the crowd! There is no doubt that this is not the last we will see between Triple H & Sheamus, but what will happen the next time these two powerhouses are in the same ring at the same time?

In a match made by RAW Guest Host David Otunga, a “Divas Red Carpet Dress To Impress Battle Royal” took place on RAW as Eve Torres, Gail Kim, Kelly Kelly, Katie Lea Burchill, Rosa Mendes, Jillian, Alicia Fox, & The Bella Twins would all compete in the match with the winner getting the opportunity to challenge Maryse for the Divas Title on next week’s RAW! The first to be eliminated was Rosa Mendes, who were eliminated by The Bella Twins, followed by Katie Lea eliminating a Bella and Alicia Fox eliminating the other Bella! Kelly Kelly then used a dropkick to eliminate both Gail Kim & Katie Lea Burchill from the Battle Royal! After this impressive feat, Kelly Kelly was eliminated by Jillian, leaving it to Eve Torres, Jillian, & Alicia Fox! Despite the double team efforts of Jillian & Alicia Fox, Eve Torres would first eliminate Alicia Fox, and then Jillian to win the Battle Royal and earn a shot at the Divas Title as she will challenge Maryse for the gold next week! Who will walk out as the Divas Champion on next week’s RAW? Will Maryse retain the gold or will Eve Torres defeat the confident Diva to win her first Divas Title?

Eight nights after they squared off in a grueling match for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania, bitter rivals Batista & WWE Champion John Cena would challenge United States Champion The Miz & Big Show for the Unified WWE Tag Team Titles! As one would expect, Batista refused to tag into the match and Cena pursued his “partner”, which led to a short brawl between the two that Batista walked away from! Cena’s exit and subsequent confrontation with Batista led to Cena getting counted out; meaning that The Miz & Big Show successfully retained their Unified WWE Tag Team Titles! After this, RAW Guest Host David Otunga comes out and announces that, since Cena & Batista could not co-exist, then he will join the WWE Champion in the main event as Cena & Otunga will challenge The Miz & Big Show for the Unified WWE Tag Team Titles! Can the WWE Champion and the NXT Rookie win the Unified WWE Tag Team Titles from The Miz & Big Show?

With the legendary Million Dollar Title belt over his shoulder, Ted DiBiase made an appearance on RAW and said his father’s induction into the Hall of Fame must have had a “profound” effect on “The Million Dollar Man” because, for the first time, he acted like a “father” last week! DiBiase says the time for “missed opportunities” is over and thanks his father for the “trust fund” and the Million Dollar Title! DiBiase then calls himself the “fortunate son”!

Ted DiBiase was also in action on RAW as he went one-on-one with “Captain Charisma” Christian in a rematch from last week’s RAW; minus the Legend Lumberjacks! The self-proclaimed “Fortunate Son” was able to pick up the hard-fought win after hitting Dream Street on Christian! What is next on the agenda of Ted DiBiase?

The huge announcement was made on RAW that, in three weeks’ time, on the night after WWE Extreme Rules, WWE will hold the annual WWE Draft on a special three-hour edition of Monday Night RAW! How will the foundation of the entire WWE change in three weeks on April 26 when the 2010 WWE Draft takes place?

Then it was time for new World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger to compete in his first match since winning the gold as “The All-American Champion” would go one-on-one with the man who pinned him in tag team action last week, “The Viper” Randy Orton! In the end, it was the veteran Randy Orton planting Jack Swagger en route to picking up the win over the new World Heavyweight Champion! Randy Orton has been on a hot streak since WrestleMania, but what is next for Randy Orton?

Then it was time for the main event as The Miz & Big Show would defend their Unified WWE Tag Team Titles for the second time in the same night as they would face the team of WWE Champion John Cena and the Guest Host of RAW, NXT Rookie David Otunga! With John Cena in desperate need of a tag, Cena dives for a tag to David Otunga, but the NXT Rookie drops off of the apron; refusing the tag and walking away from the match! With nothing left to defend himself with, John Cena was laid out with the vicious Knockout Punch by Big Show, which led to The Miz & Big Show retaining the Unified WWE Tag Team Titles! After the match, Batista comes out and picks up a helpless John Cena before planting the WWE Champion with the Batista Bomb! After the attack, Batista announces that he is invoking his rematch clause for the WWE Championship in just under three weeks at WWE Extreme Rules and the contest will be a Last Man Standing Match! Who will survive the grueling Last Man Standing Match at WWE Extreme Rules to emerge as the WWE Champion? Will John Cena successfully retain the gold or will “The Animal” regain the WWE Title that he lost at WrestleMania?

The seventh edition of WWE NXT came to you from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, IL. One week after learning of their standings in the first WWE Pros Poll, the eight NXT Rookies would be looking to step up their game for the second round of Pros’ Poll voting in five weeks where the least popular NXT Rookie will be eliminated from the competition!

WWE NXT (April 6, 2010)
Good Week For: Darren Young (pinned the number one Rookie, Daniel Bryan)
Bad Week For: Heath Slater (won the keg challenge, but his “prize” was a main event match against Kane)

Detailed Results Follow…

The show kicks off with the Host of WWE NXT, Matt Striker, who brings out the eight NXT Rookies in order of their rank from number eight to number one; Darren Young, Michael Tarver, Skip Sheffield, David Otunga, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel, Wade Barrett, and the number one Rookie, Daniel Bryan! The NXT Host asks “A-List” David Otunga to explain his actions on the previous night’s RAW and Otunga responds by saying that he could have won the Unified WWE Tag Team Titles with WWE Champion John Cena, but cites that he “does not share the spotlight with anyone” and states that he did it to curry favor with WWE Pro The Miz since Miz can help him win NXT and led to him getting his own title shot! Matt Striker then turns his attention to the number one Rookie, Daniel Bryan, as he asks Bryan if he “deserves” to be the number one Rookie! Bryan responds by pondering if The Miz “deserves” to be a WWE Pro, if David Otunga “deserves” to be the Guest Host of RAW, and if his worst critic, commentator Michael Cole, “deserves” to replace Hall of Famer Jim Ross! Bryan then states that, no, he does not “deserve” to be named number one! Striker then questions the number seven Rookie, Michael Tarver, about Bryan’s status. Tarver says that, like all of the Rookies, Bryan is a “target” and proclaims that he is “the most dangerous man in NXT, period”! NXT Host Matt Striker then reveals that, every week, the Rookies will undergo mental and physical challenges before introducing a competition where the eight Rookies must carry a full keg around the ring and over the finish line! The first Rookie to step up to the challenge was the number one Rookie, Daniel Bryan, who establishes a time of 24.9 seconds in the keg challenge! Continuing with the order of rank, Wade Barrett was up next and shattered Bryan’s time by registering a time of 14.7 seconds! Next up was Justin Gabriel, who finished with a time of 13.6 seconds! Up fourth was Heath Slater, who got a time of 12.0 seconds! Then it was time for the confident “A-List” David Otunga to step up to the challenge and he registered a time of 14.1 seconds! With a time of 12.0 seconds to beat, it was Skip Sheffield’s turn and Sheffield came close with a time of 12.4 seconds! Then it was Michael Tarver’s turn in the keg challenge. However, Tarver was unable to register a time as he was disqualified for dropping the keg! Looking to raise his status with the WWE Pros, it was time for Darren Young to take the challenge, but Young was unable to beat the time as he scored a time of 13.6 seconds! With his time unmatched at 12.0 seconds, Heath Slater was the winner and the keg challenge winner stated that he is going to “blow the minds” of the WWE fans! NXT Host Matt Striker then revealed the “prize” for the winner of the keg challenge as he will main event NXT against “The Big Red Machine” Kane! Heath Slater won the keg challenge, but can the Rookie win his main event match against Kane?

The Rookies were also in in-ring action as the number one Rookie would face the number eight Rookie as Daniel Bryan would go one-on-one with Darren Young! Young was able to catch Bryan with a roll-up to pick up the essential win and put Daniel Bryan further in his losing streak with a 0-7 record! Being the least popular NXT Rookie in the Pros’ Poll has seemingly lit a fire under Darren Young, but will it keep Young away from elimination in just five weeks’ time?

“The South African Aviator” Justin Gabriel, was also in action on NXT as he went one-on-one with the NXT Rookie of Carlito, “The Akron Assailant” Michael Tarver! In the end, it was Justin Gabriel who proved why he is number three in the Pros’ Poll as he hits the 450 splash en route to picking up the win over Michael Tarver! As Justin Gabriel continues to impress, will Gabriel ascend to the top of the list over the last five weeks?

Fresh off of his impactful night as Guest Host of RAW the previous night, number five in the Pros’ Poll, David “A-List” Otunga, was in action on NXT as he went one-on-one with the number two NXT Rookie, Wade Barrett! After hitting the Barrett Wasteland, Wade Barrett was able to pick up a dominant win over David Otunga! Could this impressive win lead to Wade Barrett unseating Daniel Bryan as the top NXT Rookie?

Then it was time for the main event as the winner of the earlier keg challenge, NXT Rookie Heath Slater, would earn his “prize” as he would face “The Big Red Machine” Kane! The number three Rookie, Heath Slater, had a valiant effort against Kane, but Slater was no match for the thunderous chokeslam of “The Big Red Machine”, which led to Kane picking up the win! As the first elimination in the NXT competition draws closer, who will find themselves on the outside looking in as an eliminated Rookie in five weeks’ time?

The 51st edition of WWE Superstars came to you from the i wireless Center in Moline, IL and from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, IL. Two former United States Champions would go one-on-one as “The Ballin’ Superstar” MVP would face Carlito. In tag team action, the lightning-quick team of Evan Bourne & Yoshi Tatsu would face the team of Chavo Guerrero & Zack Ryder. The Divas would also be in action as “The Glamazon” Beth Phoenix would face the best friend of the Women’s Champion, Michelle McCool as she would go one-on-one with Layla.

WWE Superstars (April 8, 2010)
Good Week For: Beth Phoenix (defeated Layla and sent Women’s Champion Michelle McCool packing after the match)
Bad Week For: Michael Tarver (inadvertently cost his WWE Pro, Carlito, a match against MVP)

Before the opening match of the night where Beth Phoenix would go one-on-one with Layla, Women’s Champion Michelle McCool, Layla, & SmackDown Consultant Vickie Guerrero run down the former Women’s Champion by calling Phoenix, “The Manazon” and saying that Phoenix is “missing a chromosome”! SmackDown Consultant Vickie Guerrero then announces that only Divas can challenge for the Women’s Title and claims that she can not allow Phoenix a Women’s Title shot because she is not a woman! Despite the involvement of Michelle McCool & Vickie Guerrero, an angry and determined Beth Phoenix was able to defeat Layla after hitting the Glam Slam! After the match, Michelle McCool tried to attack Phoenix, but “The Glamazon” was able to send the Women’s Champion careening to the outside and sent the devious trio packing! How will Beth Phoenix respond to Vickie Guerrero not allowing her to challenge for the Women’s Title?

In tag team action, the fast-paced team of Evan Bourne & Yoshi Tatsu would face the team of Chavo Guerrero & Zack Ryder! In the end, the exciting young team of Bourne & Tatsu was able to defeat Chavo & Ryder after Bourne took flight with Air Bourne!

Then it was time for the main event as two former United States Champions would square off as “The Ballin’ Superstar” MVP would go one-on-one with Carlito. After a mistaken distraction by his NXT Rookie Michael Tarver, Carlito was left looking at the lights after MVP hit the Playmaker en route to picking up the win!

The 555th edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown came to you from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, IL. One week after getting the World Heavyweight Title taken away from him at the hands of new champion Jack Swagger and his Money-in-the-Bank title opportunity, Chris Jericho would be looking to get a shot at regaining the gold, but he would have to defeat the man partially responsible for Swagger’s title win, “The Rated-R Superstar” Edge when the two go one-on-one in a WrestleMania Rematch where the winner will be named the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship and will challenge the new champion, Jack Swagger, at WWE Extreme Rules!

Friday Night SmackDown (April 9, 2010)
Good Week For: Jack Swagger (defeated John Morrison in a hard-fought bout)
Bad Week For: Matt Hardy (was annihilated with the Future Shock DDT on the outside by Drew McIntyre)

Detailed Results Follow…

One week after shocking the world by cashing in his Money-in-the-Bank contract on an injured Chris Jericho en route to becoming the new World Heavyweight Champion, “The All-American Champion” Jack Swagger opens the show on SmackDown! The confident new champion says it “does not matter” who wins the #1 Contender’s Match between Edge & Chris Jericho to face him at WWE Extreme Rules, because he is “the odds on favorite” to walk out of Extreme Rules as champion! Swagger claims that being a champion “suits” him and that he is “born” to be a champion! Swagger continues by saying that there is “not a WWE Superstar that can stop his momentum”! Swagger then says that, with Shawn Michaels’ career being over, he should be recognized as “the greatest, natural competitor in the WWE” before proclaiming that he “deserves to be champion”! This brings out his opponent on SmackDown, John Morrison, who tells the new World Heavyweight Champion that Swagger “got lucky one night” last week and that it may make Swagger a “title holder”, but it does not make him a “champion”! After showing Swagger’s loss to Randy Orton on RAW, Morrison says that the new champion still looks like “the same, old Jack Swagger”! “The All-American Champion” responds by saying Morrison is the one who has not “changed” as Morrison’s “only claim to fame is living in the shadow of The Miz” and says that Morrison’s career will never “rival” his! After Morrison made light of Swagger’s “speech impediment”, Swagger tried to rush “The Friday Night Delight”, but the quicker Morrison countered and sent the new World Heavyweight Champion sailing over the top rope!

Following their volatile confrontation, the new World Heavyweight Champion, Jack Swagger, went one-on-one with “The Friday Night Delight” John Morrison in a non-title match. At the end of a hard-fought, back-and-forth contest, it was Jack Swagger hitting the Swagger Bomb en route to “The All-American Champion” picking up the win over John Morrison in the opening match! Jack Swagger’s attention must now turn to the main event of the evening where, in a WrestleMania Rematch, “The Rated-R Superstar” Edge would face the former World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho with the winner becoming the #1 Contender for Jack Swagger’s World Heavyweight Title at WWE Extreme Rules. Which capable former World Champion will face Jack Swagger for the gold at Extreme Rules?

Following his shocking and vicious attack on Cryme Tyme partner and friend JTG on last week’s SmackDown, Shad Gaspard appeared on SmackDown to explain his actions! Shad says that the fans need to be a lot more “like” him and “take what they deserve” before saying that they should not let someone like JTG “stand in their way”! Shad then proclaims that it is not Cryme Tyme, but “Shad Gaspard’s time”! This brings out a revenge-fueled JTG, who tries to attack his former friend and tag team partner, but Shad slides out of the ring, allowing himself enough time to catch a pursuing JTG with a big boot on the outside! How will JTG react to being laid out, twice, by his estranged tag team partner?

After assaulting and laying out Matt Hardy before their scheduled match last week, Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre went one-on-one with Matt Hardy in a non-title match! After drilling Matt Hardy with a vicious Future Shock DDT on the outside of the ring, Drew McIntyre rolled Matt back into the ring and pinned “The Heart & Soul of SmackDown” to pick up the win!

In his hometown of Chicago, CM Punk and his Straightedge Society made a special appearance on SmackDown as “The Straightedge Savior” would initiate his NXT Rookie, Darren Young, into The Straightedge Society! CM Punk tells the fans in his hometown that he “saved” Luke Gallows & Serena from living the kind of lives that they still live! Punk said that there was a time when he would look into the eyes of Gallows & Serena and see “loneliness and despair”, just like he sees in the eyes of the fans and his NXT Rookie, Darren Young! Punk then turns his attention to his NXT Rookie and tells Darren Young that Young started his “journey” on NXT “full of hope and full of vigor” with people that supported him, but that they have “fallen to the wayside” because Young is “dead last” and if on the verge of being eliminated from the NXT competition! Punk then tells Young that he won his match on NXT due to the “power of straightedge” before telling the Rookie that he can “save” him! Darren Young then takes a seat in the middle of the ring as he prepares for the initiation into straightedge that would see his prominent hair get shaved off! Punk tells that becoming straightedge means that Young will not be a “loser” anymore and says that his own hair represents “all that is righteous” and that Young’s hair has been “filthed up” by the fans and their “civilization” before asking Darren Young if he is ready to accept CM Punk as his “savior”. After a moment of indecision, the NXT Rookie makes his decision and states that he “changes his mind” before shoving Punk to the mat! Luke Gallows then catches Darren Young with a shot from behind before all three members of The Straightedge Society commence a beat down of the young Rookie! CM Punk then gets ready to forcefully induct Darren Young into The Straightedge Society by shaving his head against the NXT Rookie’s will! Luckily for Darren Young, Rey Mysterio comes out and makes the save for Young before telling CM Punk that he accepts Punk’s challenge for Extreme Rules where, if Punk loses to Rey, then Punk must shave his head! After accepting the Extreme Rules showdown, Rey vows to defeat Punk, again, at Extreme Rules, shave his head, and put an end to The Straightedge Society! Can Rey Mysterio defeat CM Punk again at Extreme Rules and force CM Punk to have his head shaven?

In a rematch from last week’s WWE Superstars, The Hart Dynasty was in action on SmackDown as they faced off with The Dudebusters; Caylen Croft & Trent Barretta! The end of the match had the same results as their initial encounter a week prior as The Hart Dynasty had their hands raised in victory after David Hart Smith forced Trent Barretta to tap out to the legendary Sharpshooter!

Backstage, interview and NXT commentator Josh Mathews interviews Dolph Ziggler and asks “The Platinum Superstar” how it “feels” to put The Great Khali to “sleep”, Ziggler answers the question by putting Mathews in the sleeper hold; leaving the defenseless interviewer asleep on the floor! What prompted this attack by Dolph Ziggler? What is the status of Josh Mathews?

Then it was time to determine the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship as “The Rated-R Superstar” Edge would go one-on-one with former World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho in a WrestleMania Rematch with the winner challenging new champion Jack Swagger for the World Heavyweight Title at WWE Extreme Rules! The animosity between Edge & Jericho reached a boiling point during the match as, after the match broke down into a knock-down, drag-out brawl on the outside of the ring, the referee ended up counting both competitors out of the #1 Contender’s Match! After getting the upper hand on Edge, Chris Jericho rolls Edge back into the ring and grabs a steel chair, but when Jericho gets ready to use the chair, Edge counters by laying Jericho out with the Spear! With both Superstars getting counted out, who is the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Title? Who will challenge Jack Swagger for the World Heavyweight Title at WWE Extreme Rules?
