With just under 20 days (23 for us in the UK) until the highly anticipated next step in the evolution in WWE video gaming hits store shelves for you to paw over, I had the opportunity of popping into the center of London for an exclusive opportunity to try out the game for myself. Good times for all concerned…

WWE SmackDown Vs Raw 2008 Preview

It’s coming up to that time of year again. That time when the shops get all their Christmas decorations ready before Halloween products have even hit the shelves. That time when the lists start to get written and the eagerly awaited top titles enter the fold in the hope of finding a spot under your tree. Again this marks the time in which another set of the EA Sport’s catalogue’s collection of updates hit the stores, alongside their rivals from 2K Games and a certain title from the infamous Konami wizard Seabass…

Wrestling Spirit 2 Preview

I was pleased to see the original Wrestling Spirit do well, due to the fact that I liked the approach the game took. You took control of a wrestler and took part in matches which required thought and strategy to come out on top. There aren’t many wrestling games available which could compete with WreSpi’s innovation. Total Extreme Wrestling 2005 Preview

I’m pretty disillusioned with the current state of wrestling games. I realise that there are several factors which can’t be helped which have contributed to the fact that there aren’t many groundbreaking games out there, such as the lack of well known promotions needed to release games, and the fact that wrestling isn’t quite as mainstream as it was six or seven years ago meaning that developers are less likely to take a risk and create a wrestling game. However, a lot of the blame does need to go to the developers. It seems to be that every game is nothing more than a rehash of a previous year’s effort, with a new cosmetic feature and a slightly updated roster. It’s not a great time to be a wrestling fan, as some systems barely have a handful of wrestling titles available…

WWE Smackdown Shut Your Mouth: Preview

It’s that time of the year again when Yukes decide to crank out the Smackdown licence, steal another one of The Rock’s catchphrases and make themselves a game. The 4th one of the series now, Shut Your Mouth (Catchy name, no?) is looking to promise more modes, more features and improved gameplay. After the disappointment that was Just Bring It, the game is set to includes quite a few new changes.

WWF Smackdown: Just Bring It! Preview

As the world waits for the first WWF title to hit the Sony Playstation 2, we have decided to give you a sneak preview in this report. Over the past few years we have seen THQ take the WWF contract from Acclaim, and in turn this has lead to THQ changing the face of WWF gaming forever. When both Smackdown 1 and 2 were released they hit the Sony Playstation big time, and kept on doing good in the Playstation charts for some time. But as we embark on the release of what has to be the most anticipated video gaming squeal of the year, one has to wonder will competition from both the X-Box and the Game Cube slow down the Playstaion 2 and damage the legacy of THQ’s WWF Smackdown series?
