When I first arrived at the Civic Centre, I got into the small queue which had formed and who should queue up behind me, but one of the regular attendees Drew McDonald fan (read my March 15th review, to find out about him), who proceeded to tell everybody that Drew McDonald hates the English to which one person replied, that’s ok I’m Cornish…

The story behind my acquisition of this particular versatile disc formatted dose of
British Wrestling is an odd one: after chasing up an erstwhile order with former
Showstealer-Events production bods Red Church, said people very kindly offered me a free DVD of my choice from their back catalogue. I subsequently picked out… erm…. an event that wasn’t the FWA’s 2005 Round Robin, but given events prior, it wasn’t a case of complete shock when this landed on my doorstep…
I arrived at the Aylesbury Civic Centre just after 6:20pm. The main foyer doors opened at 6:30pm, at which stage everybody rushed towards the merchandise stand to buy the foams hands and programmes. The programme was actually really sparse this time about 6 pages only, also can I just say those foam hands are evil and lethal in the wrong hands. Whilst waiting I looked at the matches scheduled for the show and my fears were confirmed neither Joe Legend or Jonny Storm was listed, but Mikey Whiplash was there so all was forgiven very quickly…
FCW Endurance 2004 Review
Hey everyone, this started out as just being a regular post about last Sundays FCW ‘Endurance’ show, but as I started posting and typing away I realized that I’d rambled on enough to make this into a show review! Plus, as I haven’t reviewed a show in a good while I decided now would be as good a time as any to finally do some work!
SWA Rebirth Review
With the departure of SCW from the Scottish wrestling scene, a new promotion featuring close to all of those who had previously worked for SCW debuted. Titled the SWA (Scottish Wrestling Alliance) – they debuted on Saturday July 17th with a show in Bellshill, just outside of Glasgow, which made their mark on the wrestling scene…
This is my first UK Wrestling Tape Review of what I hope to be many, so I thought I would start out with where British wrestling all started for me, KSW. This show is from July 2003 and was to crown the first ever KSW Great British Champion. It had a good line-up of competitors, featuring some KSW veterans and at the time some new faces. It is a single elimination, 8-competitor tournament…
wZw Show Review – 6th March 2004
I had wanted to attended a WZW show for several months now, but hadn’t managed to. So when I heard that WZW would be heading down to my home town of Stockton on Tees, I couldn’t exactly miss this opportunity could I?
SCW Lion Rampant II Review
I had the pleasure of attending another Scottish Championship Wrestling event not long ago, titled SCW Lion Rampant II. Arguably not as good as their previous event, it was still an outstanding show nonetheless. The show featured a wild ladder match, and an even wilder main event…
Hey everyone, I decided to do a review of Thursdays All Star show from the Oakengates Theatre in Telford which I attended. Now for those of you who don’t know much about All Star Wrestling, or Big Time American Wrestling as they are also known I will fill in a few blanks. All Star travel around the country putting on shows almost nightly working under Brian Dixon. They use their own wrestlers, stars from other UK feds as well as bringing in American and Canadian Superstars a lot hailing from the famous Calgary “Hart” Dungeon. You never know who you might get to see…
British Uprising 2 Review
Goldys review of FWA’s British Uprising 2 which took place at the York Hall in Bethnal Green on Saturday 18th October.
