Hello there Puro fans and welcome to the newest instalment of the Rising Sun… after the previous look at the fall of the former musketeer Hashimoto I thought that this time I’d a look at the tournament that led to the arrival of the 3 musketeers, the G-1 Climax.

After my last three articles looked at the rise of youth and the problems facing them and hopefully a possible solution I decided to take a different focus. This time my lens falls on Hashimoto, Hash to his friends and one of Japanese wrestlings top draws during the mid-90’s….

In my last edition of the rising sun I highlighted the big new young guns looking to move up in NJPW, the likes of Yoshie, Shibata, Tanahashi, Nakamura and Taguchi… Well bright as the future is for them the future isn’t golden quite yet…
