NWA:Ireland Friday February 6th show report

THE NWA IRELAND EXPERIENCE

2 hours of bus travel and setting the world record for holding in a piss because I did not want to be late by getting off the bus, was NWA Ireland worth this? In short, yes.

Despite the fact that it took me longer to get to somewhere in my own county than it did to get to Belfast for UCW, I enjoyed myself.

Please forgive me if I make any minor mistakes when writing this as I am writing off of memory, I had a lot of flames over the UCW review because I put a Tron run in on the wrong match and apparently that means I know nothing about wrestling to some people.

To start off the show Kurupt and Muscles Manley came down to the ring waving the British and English flags and ran down the Irish crowd and built up England to set up the Ireland Vs England match with Fergal Devitt and Paul Tracey later on in the night. They left to some boo’s

ADAM ABZ VS CHAMERA W/ BEAUTIFUL BENNY B

Chamera needs to be the next photo of the month on the NWA Ireland website because she is so hot and to top it off she can actually wrestle well. Adam Abz I liked. Abz spent a lot of time trying to get the crowd on his back and had a good match with Chamera. Abz worked on the arm of Chamera for most of the match but Chamera had the last laugh when she got the win by rolling up Abz. Good opener. Adam Abz for some reason reminded me of the late Crash Holly with his mannerisms, I don’t know why. Match was good but I was focusing on how hot Chamera was.

“THE INVESTMENT” ROSS BROWNE AND DANNY “RENEGADE ANGEL” BUTLER VS PAUL FURY AND AGUILA

Huge “Ross Loves Sheep” chants for this one. Ross Browne gets on the mic before hand to state that he does not love sheep. Another good match but they pissed me off in it, they spent ages working over Aguila in the match and didn’t pay it off with a hot tag, I was waiting for that. A lot of teasing about sheep, including a blow up sheep that was brought into the match, Ross Browne and Danny Butler eventually got the win though witha really cool double submission move that I haven’t seen before and Ross made sure to bring the sheep into the back with him.

PADDY “SUICIDE MACHINE” MORROW VS GONZO DE MONDO

Another good match that kept me in a good mood. Gonzo reminds me of Goldberg with his new bald head and his snarling and sticking out his toungue a lot. Paddy was very over with the crowd and put on a good show and got the win in the end but Gonzo got his own back by beating Paddy down after the bell.

FINGLAS HOOLIGANS VS STYCH AND MIKKOLA

The first match of the night that kind of lulled for me. It was technically sound but not as good as the others. I like the Finglas Hooligans though. Stych to me looks like he shouldn’t be a heel, his face is too babyish. I can’t actually remember who won this one though.

SEAN “MAXER” BRENNAN VS PHIL “THE TRIFLE” BOYD VS CARL “SHOOTER” O’ROURKE

This was a very good match and I was impressed by “Shooter” O’Rourke and his arsenal of suplexes. Some small Phil the Trifle chants around the crowd, give it time and it will be as big as “Ross loves Sheep” and somewhere in the background I can hear another Irish promoter cackling with laughter at the prospect. Brennan was also good. O’Rourke eventually got the win leaving me as about the only one in the place chanting “Shooter!”

IRELAND VS ENGLAND: FERGAL DEVITT AND PAUL TRACEY VS MUSCLES MANSFIELD AND KURUPT PICKNEY

This had the best atmosphere of the night with the crowd getting behind Tracey and Devitt to support Ireland. I loved Muscles Mansfields Rick Rude disrobing bit to show the least impressive physique going. Team England beat down Devitt for a good portion of the match until they built up to the hot tag. Highlights include Devitts running swanton to the outside. Team Ireland got the win to a great reaction and went 3-2 up on UK Hammerlock. Contender for match of the night.

14 MAN AND 1 WOMAN OVER THE TOP RUMBLE

A good Rumble with Chamera again looking really hot while backing it up in the ring early on. Wildcard also looked good and even pulled off a 619 on 2 guys at once. Paddy Morrow looked as if he hurt his back in the Rumble when getting eliminated. The Rumble was eventually won by by Aguila which got a cheer from me.

THOUGHTS: A very good first impression of NWA Ireland. I enjoyed everything, I even liked the ring announcer. My only complaint about the night was that I was fucking freezing, my oranges shrunk to the size of grapes. I highly reccomend that everyone check NWA Ireland out if they haven’t already. I’ll be there again in Bray but I am looking for some reports on the show in Arklow if anyone is going? Send it along to me if you feel in the mood. I guess I’m just happy I made it out of the North side with all my limbs in tact.
