FWA ‘Hotwired’ 2004 News Update

Press Release

TYSON-KILLER LINKS UP WITH FWA!

The mystery mainstream celebrity invited by FWA Commissioner Flash Barker to attend FWA Hotwired on September 5 is none other than British heavyweight boxer, and the man who recently knocked out Mike Tyson, Danny Williams .

Williams, who KO’d Tyson in four rounds in one of the biggest upsets in boxing history last month, is a huge wrestling fan and a regular viewer of FWA TV on The Wrestling Channel. The Brixton bomber is a long-time acquaintance of Flash and is looking forward to taking time out from training for his next fight to make a special guest appearance at the Broxbourne Civic Hall.

This is a tremendous coup for the FWA and there may be further developments to this story in the run-up to Hotwired. As always, www.frontierwrestling.com will beat all other websites to the punch, to bring you all the news.

DARK MATCH TAKING SHAPE

Frontierwrestling.com can now announce the identity of one of the combatants in the upcoming dark match at FWA Hotwired. After his dynamic showings on recent FWA house shows in Morecambe and Enfield, the livewire junior heavyweight from the Midlands Spud will make his big show debut in Broxbourne.

As for his opponent, there is apparently a huge controversy brewing behind the scenes. FWA management held a locked-doors emergency meeting just yesterday (Friday) where sources claim heated words were exchanged as it was suggested that a major name from the FWA should be placed into the dark match. Sadly, as officials are remaining tight-lipped about this situation, we at www.frontierwrestling.com are still in the ‘dark’, so to speak, as to exactly who Spud’s adversary will be. Keep it here to find out.

CALAMITY JAMES

Although FWA management refused to sanction an official website poll to discover if fans wanted to see Jonny Storm return to wrestle Spanky over the FWA Hotwired weekend, an unofficial fan poll on the UK Fan Forum, at time of going to press, saw an overwhelming 74% of votes cast in favour of this Dream Match.

Recently www.frontierwrestling.com has learned that James Tighe , the man who defeated Storm in a Loser Leaves FWA match on May 29, has become extremely frustrated at the growing clamour for Jonny’s return. Tighe went so far as to write an angry letter to FWA management, making his feelings on the subject crystal clear. James demanded that the terms of his Loser Leaves FWA match with Storm be upheld and that if anyone should be signed to face Spanky over the Hotwired weekend, then it should be him – because he not only ended Storm’s FWA career but also scored a win, however tainted, over AJ Styles at Vendetta.

FWA officials are currently deliberating over Tighe’s comments and we expect an announcement on exactly who Spanky will face at Hotwired within the next few days.

THE TRUTH HURTS?

Having successfully campaigned to take Burchill out of the picture for FWA Hotwired, Greg ‘The Truth’ Lambert this week turned his attention to the other individual he blames for The Family losing the FWA Tag Team Titles at Vendetta, ‘The Hardcore Icon’ Paul Travell .

In a move that appears to be motivated more by vengeance than sense, Britain’s Number One Wrestling Journalist has issued a challenge to the man who chased him out of the Broxbourne Civic Hall in July with the barbed wire baseball bat ‘Mr Pointy’, signalling a very public end to their business relationship. Lambert says that if Paul Travell can beat, in his words, “loyal Family member” Raj Ghosh at FWA Hotwired, then Travell can have five minutes alone in the ring with the bespectacled manager.

The Hardcore Icon wasted no time in putting pen to paper to sign the contract and accept the challenge, so at FWA Hotwired the former tag team championship partners will go head-to-head when Paul Travell battles Raj Ghosh – and The Family surely goes into meltdown. Knowing Travell’s thirst for violence and redemption (he has been seething ever since Vendetta, when Lambert slapped him across the face), could September 5 finally see The Truth face the consequences of his evil deeds? And is this the end for the biggest cult in the FWA? You will have to buy your ticket to Hotwired to find out!
