Raw kicked off this week with the Battle Royal ready to start. As we awaited the arrival of Triple H, Vince McMahon came out and declared that he did not want to see someone like Steven Richards win the Title so the Battle Royal would be for the number 1 contendership and they would face HHH later on Raw.
– Chris Benoit and Edge equally win the Battle Royal being eliminated together.
– Maven bemoans the fact that he hasn’t won gold in 4 years (um, what about his Hardcore titlte reign?) He then shouts at Eugene in a heel manner.
– Lita and Victoria beat Trish and Molly Holly.
– Ric Flair beat Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler.
– Stacy Keibler, Maria, Christy Hemme and Candice strip to their lingerie in a segment with Randy Orton.
– William Regal and Eugene successfully defended their world tag titles against La Resistance.
– After the match Maven comes out and tosses Eugene into the ring steps. At last they’re going to use Maven correctly.
– Chris Benoit makes Edge tap as Edge pins Benoit to both become the new World Heavyweight Champion?!?
Now, this sounds like another good episode of Raw despite the lingerie segment. I imagine that the Heavyweight title will stay on HHH due to the dodgy decision but we’ll have to wait until next week for sure.
