Not me though, I will be holiday camping this summer again, why you ask? Simple, I will find any excuse to wrestle, if the fans don’t come to the show, then I will bring the show to the fans!

The UK scene suffers from an off season as both fans and wrestlers take time out to relax on sandy beeches or visit holiday camps for a bit of R&R. I intend to be one of the people entertaining those said R&Rers.

I’m sure many will disagree with me when I say that ticket sales for shows tend to be poor for local wrestling during the summer and smaller shows should be planned if you run any at all.

It is a sad fact of life that some promoters make the mistake of disregarding the summer holidays and over a period of June to the start of September they begin to lose money, still wondering why no-one turned up to their gig.

Ok there are the die hard fans, but I am talking about the real important people, the casual fan, die hard fans, though great to have, will probably keep you afloat, casual fans will bring you into profit.

I have to admit that recently I have been having some really good matches recently, I think my best so far was against Spiritwalker in Kidderminster, that guy knows his stuff, knows the crowd and puts on one hell of a show. I know some people who either know him or know of him may not like either him or his style, but after working him, I would say he is one of the easiest workers I have ever faced.

I also had a good match against Carl Mizzery the other week that actually turned a few heads. I’d like to say that it is part of my gradual improvement as a solid wrestler, but I think that when you work against quality, it brings out the quality in yourself.

Ok so that sounds like I’m plugging guys from my own gym, but I have to say that I quite enjoyed my match for ACW against Fury. Not only does the guy have one hell of a wrestler look on him, he is easy to work with and we pulled out an entertaining match.

I also have the UK Freebirds to look forward to soon as well, another duo of excellent wrestling knowledge and experience.

I have had a few people make comment to me that I haven’t been around as much as I used to, well there is a very good reason, it’s not that I am bored, it’s just my parents have gone on a stupidly long holiday and left me to look after a 98 year old Grandmother, two cats and my father’s business, this all on top of a hard day’s work.

My wrestling training has also suffered, trying to fit all my interests into 24 hours is not an easy task, however, I received my first real injury a few weeks back and have taken the time to rest it. I’m hoping that I should be able to face the ring this week and the gym the week after.

However, my summer looks bright as I hurl myself about to entertain the kids!

And that’s what life is all about!

Take care
