1PW: Dec 28th Newsline

1PW Newsline has learned that D-LO BROWN has pulled out of his World Title tournament qualifying round match, which was scheduled for Friday January 6th against Sterling James Keenan, in order to fulfill commitments in Japan. Newsline asked 1PW’s Ron McNorson for a comment on the situation.  “I can honestly say we tried at length to keep Mr. Brown on the shows but the timing was just against all of us.  Naturally, we wish D-Lo well in Japan.  We are proud to have had him involved at our debut event and hope that we can all get in sync down the road to have D-Lo return to action in 1PW.”

With D-Lo out, the question now is “who will take his place in the tournament?” McNorson played his cards much closer to the vest with this question. “Our staff is scouring the globe for the right individual to step into the 16th and final qualifying round spot that D-Lo’s departure has re-opened.  All I can really say right now is that we going to extreme lengths to find the right man.”

McNorson guaranteed us that the name would be released to the public in time for next week’s 1PW Newsline.

With just over a week to go before 1PW’s NO TURNING BACK weekend, the Dome in Doncaster will be rocking to the bone-breaking ferocity of two of the Pacific Ocean’s fiercest fighting beasts.  Current TNA X Division champion SAMOA JOE will do battle with former ECW World champion MASATO TANAKA on Saturday night January 7th in the Qualifying Round for the 1PW World Title tournament.

Both men’s reputations speak for themselves as being two men with a level of intensity and physicality nearly impossible to match, and a pain threshold that often defies the beliefs of the world’s most accomplished physicians. We’ve seen “The Samoan Submission Machine” march through battle after battle, oftentimes unphased at the brutality involved and unstoppable in his mission of yet another choke-out victory. However, we’ve also witnessed Tanaka shake off countless chairshot after chairshot and withstand an amazing array of barbaric offense including tables, barbed wire, and deathmatch explosions.

With these two seemingly indestructible forces converging together, what will it take to finally weaken one to the point of defeat? What effect, if any, will their battles of the previous night have on this altercation? Tanaka must survive a battle with frequent rival “King of Old School” STEVE CORINO, while Joe has to endure the challenges of “Fallen Angel” CHRISTOPHER DANIELS, CHARLIE HAAS, and “Phenomenal” AJ STYLES in a much-anticipated four way dance. Regardless of who is left standing after “No Turning Back” weekend, neither of these men will ever be the same.

Media Correspondent JOE DOMBROWSKI sat down for an interview with 1PW newcomer CHRIS HAMRICK this week and the results of their conversation are now available in the Media Section of Hamrick and TRACY SMOTHERS square off in a pair of matches against The J.O.B. SQUAD (AL SNOW and the BLUE MEANIE) at NO TURNING BACK and Joe asked the former ECW star questions about his career, his opinions on the grudge between Smothers and Meanie and much, much more.
