According to his blog, Matt Sydal will be wrestling Jack Evans at the MTV pilot taping on 2/9 in Los Angeles, California. Sydal wrote that the taping will feature a live punk band performing at the show, with heavyweight workers doing hardcore bouts and lighter wrestlers doing aerial styles matches.
The pilot taping for the company (which sources have tagged Wrestling Society X, which I have am unable to get a 100% confirm on) will be taped at a warehouse that has been converted into a soundstage of shorts.
Beyond Sydal vs. Evans, the taping is scheduled to feature appearances by Sean Waltman, Teddy Hart, New Jack, Vampiro, PJ Polaco (formerly Justin Credible), Lizzy Valentine (formerly Valentina), and Altar Boy Luke.
The pilot (expected to be a 30 minute show) was put together in conjunction with Big Vision Entertainment and former XPW producer Kevin Klinerock. The production company of record is Remote Productions Inc.
There will also be dark matches featuring Puma vs. Tommy Williams, Human Tornado vs. Delirious vs. Luke, and a six man tag bout featuring Disco Machine & Joey Ryan & Topgun Talwar vs. Scorpio Sky & Zokre & Phoenix Star. The dark matches are being presented to spotlight potential talent that could be signed if MTV decides to pursue the concept for a complete season of episodes.
