Detailed Results

The show kicked off with the WWE Champion, Randy Orton, who stated that he has been hearing "rumors" in the back that he is scared of facing John Cena for the title at SummerSlam and proclaimed that the rumors were false and he would defeat Cena at SummerSlam and keep the WWE Title. "The Viper" then turned his attention to last week’s Guest Host, Jeremy Piven. Orton stated that he bullied Jeremy Piven because "he can" and proclaimed that what the fans think of him does not mean a thing to him. Orton then takes a step up by saying that he "guarantees" victory against John Cena! A visibly angry John Cena interrupts "The Viper" and makes his way to the ring and gets in the face of the WWE Champion. The #1 Contender told the champion that he is tired of hearing Orton talk about how he can bully and defeat everyone that he crosses paths with. Cena then challenges the WWE Champion to "bully" him and asks Orton if he is going to "talk or act". As champion and challenger go face-to-face again, the Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show & Chris Jericho interrupt the intense staredown. Big Show says that he finds it "amusing" that Orton & Cena are trying to intimidate each other, stating that they don’t know anything about intimidation like he does. The Canada-raised Chris Jericho basks in the warm Canada greeting he receives and proclaims that Canada is "his country". Jericho then reveals that he talked to the RAW Guest Host, Sgt. Slaughter, earlier and convinced "Sarge" to make a one-on-one match between himself and John Cena! Jericho then vowed to do something he has never done; defeat John Cena. Orton then threatens Cena by telling him that he will be there to punt Cena after Cena faces Jericho. "The Viper" then starts to exit the ring, but Big Show stops the WWE Champion and informs Orton that Big Show also asked for a match; a match against Randy Orton! With just two weeks to go before SummerSlam, can Randy Orton survive the wrath of "The World’s Largest Athlete" or will Big Show demolish the WWE Champion? Can Chris Jericho defeat long-time nemesis, John Cena, for the first time in his career or will the #1 Contender for the WWE Title defeat Jericho once again?

The opening match of the night was a 4-Way Match to determine the #1 Contender for the Diva’s Title. In a fiercely competitive contest, it was Canada resident Gail Kim who defeated Beth Phoenix, Kelly Kelly, & Alicia Fox to be the first Diva to challenge Mickie James for the Diva’s Title. When will we see these two Divas do battle over the Diva’s Title?

In the rubber match between the two of them, "The All-American American" Jack Swagger was able to repeat his success from last week by picking up the second win in a row over Evan Bourne. After the match, MVP came out and called Swagger an "idiot with a lisp". MVP then challenges Swagger to a one-on-one match, but Swagger responds with "maybe next week". This prompts "The Franchise Playa" to shove Jack Swagger on his "All-American" backside!

RAW also featured footage of Triple H’s "Search For Shawn Michaels" as Triple H searched for his longtime friend, Shawn Michaels, in order to reform D-Generation X to combat Legacy! Naturally, Triple H’s search would bring him to Michaels’ hometown of San Antonio, TX. "The Game" searched the cafeteria of an office building where "The Hearbreak Kid" told Triple H to meet him. Triple H eventually found his old friend working as a chef in the kitchen! Triple H walked in on an awkward scene between Shawn Michaels and a little girl wanting a hamburger. The little girl demanded to have her food right then and there and "HBK", frustrated, explained to the potential customer that he actually has to cook the hamburger thoroughly. Then, with a "hi, Hunter" to Triple H, Shawn Michaels went back to cooking.

RAW also laid host to a very unique type of match up; a "Contract-On-A-Pole Match". Two potential RAW Superstars would face off and whoever grabbed the RAW contract off of a pole attached to the ring post would become the newest member of the RAW roster! Former World Tag Team Champion, Eugene, looked to come back to RAW as he squared off with a mysterious newcomer known as "The Calgary Kid". The masked Calgary native was able to endure Eugene’s unique onslaught of moves to grab the contract and become the newest addition to Monday Night RAW! After the match was over, The Calgary Kid laid Eugene out with a forward leg sweep. The new RAW Superstar then removed his mask to reveal that The Calgary Kid was actually The Miz! One week after getting banned from Monday Night RAW by Jeremy Piven & John Cena, Miz entered himself into the Contract-On-A-Pole Match and was able to get the contract to rejoin the RAW roster! By hook or crook, Miz has made his way back onto the RAW roster, what’s next for the self-proclaimed "awesome" Superstar?

Then it was time for the WWE Champion Randy Orton to do battle with one-half of the Unified Tag Team Champions and "The World’s Largest Athlete", Big Show. Show dominated the match, but "The Viper" was able to escape any further beating from Big Show by escaping "The Destroyer" and taking a count-out victory in an act of self-preservation. Has Orton seen the last of "The World’s Largest Athlete"?

Back in San Antonio, Triple H is still trying to convince Shawn Michaels to come back to the WWE and reform DX. The former WWE Champion tells Triple H that he is a chef now and he gets "respect". The "respected chef" then gets a face full of tater tots courtesy of the demanding little girl. "The Game" tells his former tag team partner that Michaels "needs" DX. Michaels responds by telling Triple H that he is "good at what he does". Triple H then directs "HBK" towards a grill fire going on behind him, which the master chef puts out.

After challenging Jack Swagger to a match earlier on, "The Ballin’ Superstar" MVP was also in action, hanging the first loss on Chris Masters since "The Masterpiece" returned to RAW a couple of weeks ago. After the big win, MVP caught sight of Jack Swagger slowly approaching the ring. As MVP turned his attention to "The All-American American", Chris Masters took advantage of MVP’s diverted attention and locked in the Masterlock on MVP! With his big grin returning to his face, Jack Swagger antagonized MVP. Swagger then instructed Masters to release the hold, Swagger then laid out a prone MVP with the Swagger Bomb! After such an opportunistic attack, how will MVP respond to Swagger’s actions?

Back in Shawn Michaels’ hometown of San Antonio, Triple H is still doing his best to convince Michaels to come back to the WWE and reform DX, stating that Michaels "needs" the WWE and "needs" D-Generation X. During their conversation, Shawn Michaels’ manager confronts his chef and reads Michaels the riot act and calls Triple H an "idiot". Fed up with the whiny little girls and the deameaning management, Shawn Michaels snapped and delivered Sweet Chin Music to his overbearing boss! "The Showstopper" then tells Triple H that he’s "in", officially marking the reformation of D-Generation X! Before leaving, Michaels told Triple H that he has one more piece of business to attend to. "HBK" then approaches the angry little girl, who has turned her attention to a different cafeteria worker, and delivers Sweet Chin Music to the little girl! With his short nemesis and angry boss laid out on the floor, Shawn Michaels shouts his resignation with an "I quit" before leaving with Triple H! Now that Triple H has convinced Shawn Michaels to reform DX to combat Legacy, when will the trouble-making duo return to Monday Night RAW?

In a match requested by Chavo Guerrero, Mark Henry & Hornswoggle were set for tag team action against Chavo and a partner of Chavo’s choosing. However, Chavo came out in street clothes and claimed that he was still recovering from the injuries that he sustained at the hands of Mark Henry last week. Chavo then revealed that he found a "replacement team"- Legacy! At the end of the match, it was Ted DiBiase taking advantage of the smaller Hornswoggle and hitting Dream Street on the leprechaun to pick up the win for Legacy. After the match, Ted DiBiase spoke for Legacy by declaring that they are "ready" to face the newly reformed DX and challenged Triple H & Shawn Michaels to a match at SummerSlam! It was later revealed that DX readily accepted the challenge and it was made official; it will be D-Generation X taking on Legacy at SummerSlam! Can Legacy survive the legendary DX or will "The Game" and "The Heartbreak Kid" leave Legacy laying?

In a blockbuster announcement for next week’s RAW, the Guest Host for next week’s show will be big time actor and writer, Freddie Prinze, Jr.! What will the legend of teen comedies have in store for the RAW roster just six days before SummerSlam?

Then it was time for Chris Jericho to go one-on-one against John Cena in a match that Jericho requested. However, thanks to Randy Orton, nothing was proven in the match as "The Viper" interfered in the contest, leaving John Cena with an unwanted disqualification victory. With his partner in a vulnerable position, Big Show made his way to the ring and the Unified Tag Team Champions managed to lay out both champion and challenger in Randy Orton & John Cena! The Guest Host for the night, Sgt. Slaughter, then makes an appearance and announces a huge main event for next week’s RAW as it will be the WWE Champion Randy Orton, in his hometown of St. Louis, teaming with his #1 Contender for the WWE Title, John Cena as they take on the Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show & Chris Jericho! After this big announcement, Orton & Cena actually worked as a team to rid the ring of the Unified Tag Team Champions by champion and challenger double-teaming Chris Jericho and actually sending Big Show over the top rope and out of the ring! On the final RAW before SummerSlam, can Orton & Cena keep this temporary partnership going next week? Can Cena trust "The Viper" long enough to defeat Big Show & Chris Jericho or will the Unified Tag Team Champions take advantage of the potentially unstable team?
