Before he went one-on-one with World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger, Rey Mysterio opens the show and says that he was given a “second chance” last week and he did the “impossible” by winning the Battle Royal to earn his way into the Fatal 4-Way World Heavyweight Title Match! Rey then proclaims that “when” he wins the World Heavyweight Title, it will not only be his title, but the fans’ title as well! This brings World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger out, who tells Rey that he did not “earn” anything and “never has” because he always “capitalizes” on the “misfortune of others” and, last week, he “capitalized” on the “misfortune” of The Undertaker! Swagger then states that, while Mysterio was in Mexico, he was training in America to one day become the World Heavyweight Champion! Rey responds by saying that all of Swagger’s “higher education” went to “waste” because what he just said sounded “stupid” and proclaims that he is just one 619 away from becoming World Heavyweight Champion for a second time! This brings out “The Straightedge Savior” CM Punk, along with The Straightedge Society, who says that the NXT attack on him on RAW was an “assassination attempt”, but that he is there because he is “extraordinary” and proclaims that, at WWE Fatal 4-Way, he will become a four-time World Heavyweight Champion and the fans will have a “champion” in CM Punk! Rey responds by saying that he, and the fans, are tired of hearing Punk “run” his mouth and challenges CM Punk to remove his mask and show his bald head! This brings out “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show, who proclaims that he is going to walk out of WWE Fatal 4-Way as the World Heavyweight Champion and says that he will rip the mask off of CM Punk in their match later on! The lights then go red as “The Big Red Machine” Kane appears on the tron and says that, when he finds the “responsible party” for his brother, The Undertaker’s, assault, he will make sure they end up in a casket! Kane then alleges that it may have been a co-operative effort in a “diabolical plot” to take The Undertaker out before assuring everyone that there will be “vengeance”! Could Big Show, CM Punk, Rey Mysterio, or World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger be responsible for The Undertaker’s assault that left him in a “vegetative state”? What lengths will Kane go to in order to find his brother’s assailant?

Nine nights before he defends his gold in a Fatal 4-Way, World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger would go one-on-one with one of his three challengers at WWE Fatal 4-Way, “The Master of the 619” Rey Mysterio as the two would face off for the first time ever in the opening match of the night! In the end, it was Rey Mysterio hitting the 619 on Jack Swagger and following it up with a springboard leg drop that allowed Rey to pin and defeat the World Heavyweight Champion! After the match, Swagger blind-sided Rey and stomped away at Mysterio until “The Big Red Machine” Kane came out proceeded to deliver a thunderous chokeslam to Jack Swagger, as well as Rey Mysterio! Are the competitors in the Fatal 4-Way World Heavyweight Title Match Kane’s prime suspects to The Undertaker’s assault?

One-half of the self-proclaimed “co-Women’s Champions” Layla, along with Florida native Michelle McCool and their NXT Rookie, Kaval, was in action on SmackDown as Layla went one-on-one with Tiffany, with Florida’s own Kelly Kelly at ringside! In the end, it was a distraction by Michelle McCool that allowed Layla to hit the Lay Out on Tiffany en route to picking up the win!

“Captain Charisma” Christian was in action on SmackDown and SmackDown Consultant Vickie Guerrero introduces Christian’s opponent as “the future of the WWE” Dolph Ziggler! In the end, it was Christian catching Dolph Ziggler with a sunset flip roll-up that allowed Christian to pick up the win in a hard-fought match! After the match, Curt Hawkins & Vance Archer entered the ring and Archer laid Christian out with the Archer’s Arrow before Hawkins hits the big elbow drop before exiting the ring having made their “impact” on their last night to do so! Dolph Ziggler then hones in on a defenseless Christian as Dolph locks in the sleeper hold on Christian! After putting Christian down with the sleeper hold, Dolph embraced SmackDown Consultant Vickie Guerrero! What benefits will Dolph’s relationship with Vickie Guerrero bring?

Four nights after losing to the suspended Matt Hardy, via a loophole in the terms of Matt’s suspension stating that Matt Hardy was suspended from SmackDown and not RAW, “The Chosen One” Drew McIntyre made an appearance on SmackDown and a livid McIntyre demanded that SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long come to the ring! Long comes to the ring and starts to address Drew McIntyre, but McIntyre tells Long that Long will speak when McIntyre lets him and tells Long to watch the tron, which shows Matt Hardy’s distraction and attack on McIntyre on last week’s SmackDown, as well as Matt defeating McIntyre on RAW! After showing Long the video, Drew McIntyre announces that, per the order of WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon, Matt Hardy is suspended from “all WWE programming”! When Theodore Long tries to respond, McIntyre snatches the microphone and throws it to the mat before telling Long that he wants to see Long’s “face” when he tells Long his next bit of news! However, this announcement is interrupted by Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston, who says he and everyone else are “sick” of McIntyre’s “whining and complaining” before telling McIntyre to “shut up”! Kofi states that, when he “falls down”, he picks himself up “like a man” and, when he wants something, he goes about getting it “like a man” and when he doesn’t like someone, he does something about it! With this, Kofi pops McIntyre with the microphone and brawls with McIntyre before hitting Trouble in Paradise, knocking McIntyre off of the ring apron and to the floor! How will Drew McIntyre respond to this attack by Kofi Kingston?

Following his confrontation with Drew McIntyre, SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long is backstage in his office trying to get WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon, but Drew McIntyre barges in and informs Theodore Long that, on next week’s SmackDown, Theodore Long will be forced to go one-on-one with McIntyre because, if Long does not show up for the match, then Long will be fired per the orders of Mr. McMahon! Can Theodore Long possibly survive the wrath of Drew McIntyre next week given no option but to compete?

Then it was time for the main event as, for the first time ever, “The Straightedge Savior” CM Punk would go one-on-one with “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show nine nights before they are two of the three challengers for Jack Swagger’s World Heavyweight Title! During the match, Big Show was just about to pull the mask off of CM Punk, but Luke Gallows, Serena, and the masked ally of The Straightedge Society entered the ring and attacked Big Show as the entire Straightedge Society assaulted “The World’s Largest Athlete”! That was until “The Big Red Machine” Kane came out and, after CM Punk narrowly escaped, Kane planted both the masked ally and Luke Gallows with a chokeslam before delivering a mammoth chokeslam to Big Show! While Kane has been nothing short of destructive, is “The Big Red Machine” any closer to finding out who assaulted The Undertaker?
