Welcome one and all once again to another peek into the UK grapple scene. There is much to talk about this week including the huge news surrounding FWA “British Uprising 3”, D Lo Brown adding another date to his UK tour and All Star returning to Bristol. So sit back and enjoy whilst I take you through the last 7 days of British wrestling.

It has been announced this weekend by the FWA that the venue for “British Uprising 3” will be none other than the most infamous venue in British wrestling over the last 5 years that being of course none other than the Coventry Skydome. Yes you heard right the venue that played host to the less than successful UCW and the venue which was set to be used by the ill fated Wrestlexpress.

So why you may ask yourself do the FWA want to use it? Simple it turns heads and that it has, the FWA are always looking for ways to mark their place in history and they are hoping this could be a defining night for the company. I have said over the last year that the FWA have got a bit too comfortable with their current situation but finally they have started to listen as they try to take the company to the next level.

This will be the biggest promoting challenge in the FWA’s history as they aim to sell out 3500 seats but I know this has been an idea for some time now in the FWA so they aren’t going into this blind. The challenge is added to by the number of dates the WWE are doing in October as they try to get the general public to part with some more money. Or you never know they may get more ticket sales because of the WWE dates getting wrestling some widespread coverage here in the UK.

The event takes place on November 13th and tickets will be on sale early October. Already announced for the card is AJ Styles vs. James Tighe in a 30 minute ironman match along with many more international stars to be announced. For more information and to keep up to date with the FWA log on to FrontierWrestling.com.

Bristol grapple fans will be happy as All Star wrestling are returning to the city in October with a bang. After having to pull out of Colston Hall there has been a void left in Bristol as there has been wrestling at Colston hall for decades and the venue is decked in British wrestling tradition and history. The new venue for All Star is the Exhibition Hall at Ashton Gate where they will be holding monthly events out of from now on.

The first event from this new venue will take place on the 29th of October and what a night of action it promises to be. The event will feature P.N Neuz, Colt Cobana, Joe X Legend and Brodie Steel to name just a few. Also on the card is a host of top class British wrestlers as well as midget wrestler Little Legs who featured regularly on Chris Evans show TFI Friday. So it should be entertaining to say the least.

The tournament to crown a new British Heavyweight champion in RBW starts next weekend in Finchley, London. The first two qualifiers feature friend to the site Tex Benedict going against Jack Storm and Cameron Knite squaring off against Johnny Kidd. The tournament will continue into October as the other side of the draw takes place but there are some very interesting matches to look forward to this weekend that’s for sure.

I would just like to take a brief moment to say a big well done to the guys down at MPW who I am hearing put on another quality show last night (18/09). I had a few friends that went and really enjoyed themselves, so top work guys keep it up. I also hear you will be doing a show every month in the run up to Christmas so a lot more still to come from you this year I hope.

As you already know D-Lo Brown is making another visit to our isles this November but he has added another date to his tour. He will be making his debut for BCW on the 1st of November at the Grand Hall in Kilmarnock. So all you Scottish wrestling fans be sure to get to that one.

Another promotion D-Lo will be working for is FCW and what a line up of US Indy stars they have arranged to see the end of the year out with a bang. On September 26 Super Dragon and Colt Cobana will be on the card at the Baggeridge Social Welfare Club which shows you that FCW are really going places. After using the likes of X-Dream earlier in the year to now have these guys working for you is major kudos, good work guys. D-Lo will be appearing for FCW on the 2nd of November at Bescott Stadium in Walsall.

The UK is set to be invaded by some high flying Mexicans next month as UWA present the “Arena Mexico Tour”Meixcan wrestlers El Hijo Del Santo and Blue Panther with the UWA crew will be invading the Colchester Arts Centre on the 6th of October then on to Essex University Dance hall on the 8th of October. There is lots going on besides the wrestling I’m informed so ticket holders will be in for a treat so be sure to get your tickets quick and keep your nose to the ground for any more information about these exciting events.

Before I go this week I must tell you about the competition we are running on the site at the moment. Thanks very kindly to the good people down at the FWA Academy we have 2 DVD copies of Havant 6.1 to give away to celebrate their recent release. This unique event which featured a 6 sided ring for the first time in the UK is a must have and for your change to win visit: FWA Academy Competition. After you have done that be sure to read Saracen’s latest column its another goodie.

Until next time,

Adam Sibley
