This week I sat down to watch the latest 2 disc DVD offering from the UFC. This was the much hyped event for the fighting return of Tank Abbott who most will remember from his days in WCW. This match was not top of the bill though as this honour belonged to Ricco Rodriguez who defended his Heavyweight title against Tim Sylvia. These matches coupled with an exciting under-card meant I was looking forward to a real treat but did this release live up to my expectations?

The idea of this new column is to report and discuss the latest news and rumours in the MMA world. The secondary aspect of this column however, is to help educate new fans of the sport and help them understand it more.
‘UFC will be back on British TV as Setanta Sport will broadcast UFC 45 live on 11/21 on Sky Digital and cable.’ This is huge news to say the least. UFC was on Sky Sports in July-August in 2001 to build for a show at the Royal Albert Hall, but hasn’t been broardcast since.
