10. President Hoshino ¥10,000,000 Offer Tag Tournament – Final: Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Shinsuke Nakamura beat Masahiro Chono & Katsuyori Shibata (19:28) when Tenzan pinned Chono after the Ten-Naka Koroshi.

The Jurassic Powers where finally beaten today by Nagata and Wolf. It was Nakanishi that dropped the fall as he fell to Blue Wolfs devasting lariat.

After much specualtion Tanaka turned up in his mask as Heat to face off against enemy Kanemoto in his record breaking 9th defense of the IWGP Junior Heavyweight title. The match was said to be a wild one and ended in a double KO draw which allowed Heat to retain and break Ligers defense record of 8.

Tenzan and Nakamura won the tag tournement to place themshelves in the Tag title firing line. First they disposed of Kawada and Nagai as Nagai tapped to Nakamura’s Standing Cross Armbreaker. They faced off against Shibata and Chono as they had disposed of Kensuke and Tenryu earlier (with Shibata finally geting a pin on Tenryu with an FK). Tenzan got the win over former mentor and now hated foe Chono after the Ten-Naka Koroshi (described in previous post). This also strengthens Tenzan’s claim at the IWGP title shot he is owed for his G-1 Climax win.
