CBlog XXXVII- WWE WrestleMania 25 Predictions

Hello and welcome to CBlog #37. As the title says, I am here to post my predictions for this Sunday’s 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania extravaganza. Just a reminder- make sure to check out This Week In WWE (also written by me 😉 on Wrestling 101 every Saturday!
J.R.’s latest blog is saying that himself, Michael Cole, & Jerry Lawler will be announcing WrestleMania. While he did not specify, I assume that means for all the matches. I think Matt Striker would be a smart replacement for Tazz (no pun intended) or go back to the old days of having the RAW Color Commentator double as the SmackDown Color Commentator. In any case, a three-man announce team consisting of the best announcers, and Michael Cole, is a wise decision. I am just glad to hear that I will not be hearing Grisham call any matches. Imagine reliving WrestleMania on DVD and having to hear Grisham on it. Even Vince is not that crazy.
I think now is as good as time as any to post my WrestleMania predictions:
WWE Championship:
Triple H (c) def. Randy Orton to retain (Certainty- 60%)

This feud seems to be be leaning more towards Orton in my mind and I think that Triple H’s revenge will be the logical choice here. A No DQ match would have been better than the “title changes on a DQ or count-out” rule, but it should still be a great match.
World Heavyweight Championship: Triple Threat:
John Cena def. Edge (c) & Big Show to win the World Heavyweight Title (Certainty- 70%).

It is unfortunate, but I see Cena taking the title in this one. I would like to see Big Show win the title, but what I want is rarely what happens.
The Streak Vs. The Showstopper:
The Undertaker def. Shawn Michaels (Certainty- 85%).

I said it last year and I will say it again- Undertaker’s undefeated streak should never end. I also do not think it ever will end. I do predict that this will be the greatest Undertaker match at WrestleMania ever. On the flipside, if there was one guy to end the undefeated streak, it would be Shawn Michaels.
Extreme Rules:
Jeff Hardy def. Matt Hardy (Certainty- 95%).

I personally believe that this match would be just as good if it was a straight-up singles match. Maybe we will see that at Backlash. In any case, I see Jeff winning this one, it only seems logical.
Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match:
Christian def. CM Punk, Kane, Finlay, Mark Henry, Kofi Kingston, MVP, & Shelton Benjamin (Certainty- 65%).

I see Christian winning this one. He is the only one of these eight who I can see winning it. When the final lineup was originally set, I had a lot more confidence that Christian would win, but seeing how frequently he’s been getting jobbed out, I kind of have my doubts. He is still my prediction, though.
Unified WWE Tag Team Championship: Lumberjack Match:
The Miz & John Morrison def. Primo & Carlito to become Unified WWE Tag Team Champions (Certainty- 99%).

There’s no doubt that Miz & Morrison are regarded to be the bigger of the two tag teams. I have enjoyed M & M much more that I have Primo & Carlito and I think that they are the only sane choice to be the Unified WWE Tag Team Champions.
3-on-1 Handicap Match:
The Legends def. Chris Jericho (Certainty- 100%).

The stipulation added to this match on RAW makes this one a little bit more interesting. With Ric Flair backing The Legends and Mickey Rourke almost guaranteed to get involved, I see Piper, Snuka, & Steamboat winning, no question.
Intercontinental Championship:
Rey Mysterio def. John “Bradshaw” Layfield (c) to win the Intercontinental Title (Certainty- 52%).

I have no real reasoning behind it, I just envision Rey winning the Intercontinental Title.
25-Diva Battle Royal:
Winner: Trish Stratus (Certainty- 45%).

The only reason I care about this match is to see who shows up for this one. I see Trish Stratus being a surprise entrant and having some sort of face off with Beth Phoenix and possibly see Trish eliminate Phoenix. Wouldn’t it be something to see Nicole Scherzinger come in and win it and then possibly join the WWE? That would be cool and unexpected.
That is all for this CBlog. I will be posting #38 sometime after WrestleMania. Enjoy the show!

I’m thinking that this will be a WrestleMania filled with uncertainties and surprises.
Triple H will win against Randy Orton, I’m certain of it.
For the World Heavyweight Title, I’m going for the biggest shock and surprise to the match, Big Show winning it. (I’ve decided for the better part of these last few days before Mania to throw out logic for these matches)
Jeff Hardy def. Matt Hardy.
As… “Deserving”… As this sounds, either Kofi Kingston or Shelton Benjamin will capture the briefcase, cash it in the same night against the world heavyweight champ, and lose.
Miz and Morrison def. The Colons.
The Legends def. Chris Jericho.
I don’t know why, but I had the thought of an ironman match for the IC title, announced just before the match by JBL, which ends with Rey winning, and JBL retiring.
I think it’ll be either Trish, Beth, Maryse, or Gail Kim to win. It’s hard to really have a clear winner in that match.

I predict a surprise entrance by the rattlesnake stone cold steve austin to thwart off the post match assault Jericho will launch against the legends after losing the match.
