WWE: Buy Rate Numbers For First Two PPV’s of 2009 Revealed

WWE released the buy information for the first two pay-per-views of the year. The Royal Rumble drew 450,000 buys, which is down from the 533,000 buys the show did last year. Meanwhile, No Way Out drew 272,000 buys, which is down from 329,000 buys for the 2008 version of the show.

Although WWE will not release the official number for WrestleMania 25, the press release claims the event is in the ballpark of one million buys. “Subsequent to the quarter, our 25th anniversary production of WrestleMania set a record as the highest grossing live event in WWE history, attracting more than 70,000 fans and recording approximately 1 million pay-per-view buys for WWE,” reads the financial statement.
